It’s no surprise that Seppeltsfield won big at last night’s 2021 South Australian Tourism Awards. The historic winery and stunning showpiece of the Barossa Valley took home the ‘Hall of Fame’ and ‘Winner – Best Winery, Brewery, Distillery’ at the Gala Dinner.

Celebrating their 170th anniversary this year, Seppeltsfield is internationally renowned for its treasure trove of fortified wines, as well as establishing its estate as an iconic destination in the Barossa Valley. 2. CENTENNIAL CELLAR

Seppeltsfield’s Centennial Cellar is the remarkable vision of Oscar Benno Pedro Seppelt, who in 1878, began the legacy of maturing single vintage Tawny for 100 years before release.

Benno’s foresight has led Seppeltsfield to nurturing the world’s longest and only unbroken collection of single vintage tawny since 1878; creating a living museum of Australian winemaking history and undoubtedly the ‘jewel in the crown’ of the Seppeltsfield estate.

In addition to your chosen Centennial Cellar immersion and offered exclusively to guests of our Centennial Cellar Experiences, a private host will entertain you in our luxurious VIP mezzanine lounge, allowing you to absorb the surrounds of our cellar door in privacy and comfort.

3. CELLAR DOOR

The Cellar Door allows for intimate wine tasting experiences through four separate circular tasting alcoves known as ‘PODS’, creating a unique setting and ambience during your visit. This is complemented with a VIP mezzanine lounge where private and luxury tastings are held.

Visitors can select from their tasting list which includes white, rose and red wines, as well as a range of their fortified products while learning the story behind each wine from the cellar door team.

4. NEW RELEASE OF WINES

On your trip to Seppeltsfield, be sure to has a taste of their newest release of wines, including the 2021 Barossa Grenache Rose.

Made in a contemporary, fresh and dry style, the wine is sourced from plantings of Grenache on the Western Ridge of the Barossa Valley. The fruit was harvested over two picks to capture both freshness and flavour.

The aroma is of fresh white nectarine and raspberries, dusted with icing sugar, and the palate offers savoury grip, lime juice and persistent mouthfeel.

5. DRAGAN FINE ART PHOTOGRAPHY GALLERY

DRAGAN Fine Art Photography Gallery is the newest addition to the Seppeltsfield village, opening in late 2020 – the year that Dragan Radocaj celebrated a decade of calling the Barossa home.

Dragan has now spent over 10 years capturing the evocative photographic Barossa and beyond – a fitting time to open his special Fine Art Gallery at Seppeltsfield.  The gallery showcases the best of his work with limited edition fine art prints, most of which have never been seen or made available for purchase before.

6. VASSE VIRGIN

Vasse Virgin Barossa is a business with a unique vision, producing all-natural handmade skin and body care developed to suit all skin types.

Vasse Virgin won big along with Seppeltsfield at 2021 SATC Awards taking home the ‘Tourism Retail and Hire Services’.

7. JAM FACTORY

Seppeltsfield is the second home to JamFactory, being the first regional extension of JamFactory’s Adelaide origins and a new chapter to the region’s art tourism offering.

The contemporary craft and design studios, gallery and shop is housed in an historic 1850s stables building, which has been extensively renovated. 

A trip to the hub welcomes visitors to get hands on and engage with workshops, watch the experts in action and shop the range of stunning products.

8. GARDNER KNIVES

While stopping off at Jam Factory, be sure to check out Gardner Knives. It’s a knife-making business which hand-forges custom knives and holds regular knife-making workshops.

Two years ago Curtis Stone and his Executive Chef Chris came in to the Gardner Knives Studio at Seppeltsfield to do some filming and spend time learning some knife making skills. They crafted a Damascus knife, which you can replicate on your visit too.

So we’ve covered the vasty array of dining, viewing and experiences that are on offer at Seppeltsfield estate, but there are still more hidden gems to uncover on your trip.

The Seppeltsfield Segway Tour solves this problem! The tour is your back-stage pass to some of the magical areas of the estate not normally accessible on regular tours. You will zoom through the great terrace vineyards which is a unique on of a kind experience .
