Alphatise, a revolutionary new social commerce marketplace, is on the hunt for standout candidate to take on a $100,000 employment package, and recruiting has opened today to all Australian university students.

This nationwide offer, titled “World’s Best Internship”, will mean one lucky university student will join Alphatise’s rapidly growing team of 33. Potential candidates need to create a profile, upload a 60-second video and then leverage their social status to receive votes and win over the co-founders; Paul Pearson, Richard Frey and Ben Nowlan.

Launched last week in Australia, Alphatise is set to disrupt online retail in the company’s bid to deliver a new digital democracy for the Australian retail sector. By shifting back the power to the consumer, Alphatise lets shoppers have a say in what they pay by creating wishes on items they want to purchase with over 250 million products available and growing by the day.

The Sydney-based company is already planning its global expansion and is looking for a tech-savvy intern with an international mindset who understands the buyer-seller and social experience within the online retail space.

Co-founder, Ben Nowlan, says the winning candidate will work at Alphatise for 12 months and will be mentored to learn the essential skills required to be part of their business.

“This is an exciting time for someone to join our team and be a part of a new venture that is the first ecosystem in retail where shoppers call the shots. We’re looking for someone that is keen to learn how our business will empower shoppers as well as bring some fresh, digitally-driven thinking to mix,” says Nowlan.

The successful applicant will receive $50,000 in salary, $50,000 in Alphatise shares, a brand new Nissan Juke, a laptop and a contract phone under the 12-month contract.

As an experienced business owner, Nowlan also believes that internships are a way for university students to upskill quickly, and to land themselves the job they want.

“Australia is currently suffering a youth-unemployment crisis, and university students are arguably emerging from their degrees without the skillset needed to meet the needs of the businesses from the get-go – they need a lot of on-the-job training.

“Our internship package has created an opportunity for the successful applicant to develop their skills in whichever field they are passionate about. Whether it’s sales and marketing or being part of our world-class technology development team, we’ll help to make that happen for them,” concludes Nowlan.
