The highly anticipated SA4SA Bushfire Appeal Gala Dinner (Gala), which went on sale last Thursday, has already smashed the $100K fundraising target.

Set for Friday 31 January, the Gala was realised to raise funds for families and businesses affected by the horrific South Australian bushfires via the SA Bushfire Appeal. Every dollar donated to the appeal will go directly to those impacted by the fires, with the SA Government to absorb all administration costs.

Kelly Noble, spokesperson for the Gala and co-founder of Showcase South Australia said that as a result of the overwhelming response just four days in, the fundraising target had now been increased to $250K, with a further 500 tickets released.

“This Gala is a platform for people to come together and show their generosity. We actually met the $100K target and had sold 530 tickets by last Saturday – two days after we went on sale!

“As of today, we have sold 750 tickets and raised around $120,000 for those impacted by the bushfires, via ticket sales and auction items. Everyone’s support and generosity has been so humbling,” Kelly said.

Held at the Adelaide Convention Centre, the black-tie Gala is set to be a night to remember.

Aiming to now sell 1,000 tickets, organisers are pulling together an unforgettable night celebrating our True-Blue Aussie Spirit.

Guests will: hear stories of tragedy and triumph with communities coming together to overcome unfathomable adversity; enjoy a stellar entertainment line-up; taste a delicious three-course menu celebrating SA produce matched with SA wines; and have the opportunity to purchase and win some incredible prizes that have been flooding in from corporates and local businesses alike through raffles and auctions on the night.

“We have had overwhelming feedback from the community wanting to help or get involved in some way – it has been incredibly humbling to be at the coalface of people’s generosity at such a time of need. These people are really hurting and we hope we can make a difference.

“Let’s not forget that as those first hit by these bushfires start their clean up, the rest of the state braces for a dangerous fire season ahead. This isn’t over,” Kelly said.

Tickets are on sale and selling fast! People are encouraged to get in quick to avoid disappointment.
