COVID-19

105 new cases of COVID-19 reported in SA today

For the first time since the pandemic began, SA has clocked into the three-digit mark in reported Covid-19 cases for one day.

There have been 105 new cases of COVID-19 reported today, the highest number for one day in the state since the beginning of the pandemic.

There have been 1,400 cases reported in South Australia to date, with today’s cases being 11 children, six teenagers, 39 women aged between 18 and 93 and 49 males aged between 18 and 67.

Of these, 39 acquired their infection in South Australia and are known contacts of a positive case, one case acquired their infection interstate, and 65 cases are under investigation.

Two men in their 30s and 60s and three women in their 20s, 30s and 90s are at the Royal Adelaide Hospital.

SA Health encourages anyone who has been out in the community to monitor closely for symptoms and get tested as soon as soon as they appear.

Long lines at testing sites have been seen across the state, with the Victoria Park clinic seeing the longest wait times of all the locations.

From today, parents are also able to book in their 5 to 11 year olds to be vaccinated against the disease, with many flocking to the SA Health website, only to find teething issues with the booking system for children.

Important things to note:

You may not always receive a call, SMS or email from SA Health.

You must follow the relevant health advice even if you have not been contacted.

If you have any COVID-19 symptoms, no matter how mild, please seek testing as soon as possible.
