10m High Wine Bottle in Rundle Mall

So you have 55,630 corks lying around – and suddenly you’re hit with an idea… turn them into a massive bottle of the stuff they came from.

That’s exactly what Wirra Wirra has done – the 10m high wine bottle, featuring the label of its iconic blend Church Block created entirely from recycled corks will be on display in Rundle Mall from 18 February – 14 March next to Briccones Restaurant at the Pulteney Street end of Rundle Mall.

Rundle Mall Management are pleased to have this artwork in the Mall. General Manager Martin Haese said “Rundle Mall Management in conjunction with Wirra Wirra are bringing this artwork to Rundle Mall to celebrate the arrival of the cruise ships, the Fringe and the festival atmosphere that Adelaide has become famous for in March. In an on-going effort to create a greater point of difference, this temporary installation will no doubt attract considerable attention and traffic as it did whilst displayed at Southbank in Melbourne in March 2010”.

In addition, wine tastings will be conducted at the bottle next to Briccone’s Restaurant as follows:

– Fridays starting 25th February until 14th March: Noon – 3pm and 4.30pm – 7.30pm

– Sundays starting 20th February* until 14th March: 11.30am – 4.30pm

*Sunday 20th from 9.30am – 2.30pm (due to the early arrival of cruise ships and stores opening to co-incide)
