Belles Botanica

This September, Port Adelaide welcomed a breezy new rooftop bar just in time for the warmer months. Belles Botanica is perched on the second level of the newly revived COLAC hotel, and is bringing a share-style menu that’s quietly luxurious. Think cheese plates, stacked with either triple cream brie, bold cloth-matured cheddar, or artisan hand-crafted creamy blue, perfectly paired with cocktails and skyline views.

British Hotel – Reopened

After closing the doors at the end of last year, another Port Adelaide venue has opened to the locals, with the British Hotel returning back and better than ever. Reopening under new management, the new team has brought a fresh style to the pub, but with all your old favs like a classic schnitty and pint, making it the perfect place to kick back and relax with mates or a sunny spot to enjoy as the weather gets warmer.

This September, Croydon welcomed a brand new patisserie, Dolceria by Luca. This is a family-run spot that feels like a slice of southern Italy transplanted into Adelaide. With subway tiles, green, white and gold finishes, and a quaint double door that nods to the heritage of Elizabeth Street. In store, you’ll find all things espresso, sugar, and freshly baked pastries.

A new cafe and bar was opened in Glenelg this September, as the team behind Oyster Bar on the Marina Pier welcomed their latest venture, Handsome Max. This casual cafe and bar serves breakfast, brunch, and Friday night knock-offs, and thanks to chef Chris, who oversees both Max and the Oyster Bar, you’ll find delicious Italian gourmet sandwiches leading the lineup. On the menu, there are classics like sopressa, hot Calabrese salami, and truffled Swiss mushroom, and grilled options with meatballs, Korean fried chicken, porchetta, and more.

He Said She Said, the Hyde Park favourite known for its premium coffee and cult brunch dishes, headed north this month, opening its second outpost on Prospect Road. This September, seafood fans grabbed their bibs and dug into the peppery, saucy, flavour-packed Cajun feast we’ve all come to love at Kickin’Inn as it opened its second Adelaide location in Gilles Plains Shopping Centre. A new Chinese restaurant has arrived in the northeast suburbs, and it’s set on bringing an elegant lounge-style dining experience that offers punchy, spice-driven cocktails and fresh, herb-garnished Hong Kong-style dishes.

It’s the passion project of Jo O’Toole, a self-professed people person who spends weekdays working in the social sector and weekends pouring coffee, baking cookies and bringing neighbours together.

After a brief hiatus, West Beach Fish and Chips has welcomed beachgoers back for their cult-classic fish and chips with a refreshed inside and out.
At the centre of the renovations is a fresh new outdoor space that makes it much more enticing to dine in. The new outdoor area is set to open up more tables, bench seating, and cafe blinds. Outdoor ceiling fans will keep it breezy in the height of summer, and heating will keep it cosy in the depths of winter.
