Paracombe Wines is opening the doors to its family-run estate this spring with a weekend event that blends discovery, indulgence and connection. Set in the Adelaide Hills, this is not just a simple tasting, It’ll be a seasonal celebration, built around flavour, community, set amongst a stunning garden and the vineyard.
For two days in October, Saturday 18 and Sunday 19, the Paracombe team will guide guests through a generous lineup of twelve wines, paired with six canapés designed to complement the glass in hand. There will be cheeses, a loaded grazing board, and even a sweet finish to close out the afternoon.
What will set this experience apart from previous wine events at Paracombe is the addition of an exclusive blind barrel tasting.
“They’ll be very exclusive wines,” said Sarah Drogemuller, Customer Relations Manager.
“Some of our high-end styles that have seen more time in barrel and are nearing the final stage. But we won’t be telling anyone what they’re tasting. It’s all part of the fun.”
The shift away from a traditional spring release came from a desire to offer something different.
“We wanted to provide something fresh for the wider Adelaide Hills community,” Sarah said.
“We’re really lucky with the wine range we’ve developed. But we also love supporting local producers on the food side. This was a chance to bring those two things together.”

It’s a true team effort. The concept was shaped by everyone at Paracombe, including Sarah’s father Paul, who suggested bringing barrels up to the cellar door for a blind tasting experience to add something hands-on.
Feedback from past events helped shape this new format.
“People wanted more variety,” Sarah said.
“They love seeing what’s on the food menu ahead of time. And they’ve responded so well to this. The response has been really great this year.”
Guests can expect live entertainment and, if the weather holds, fire pits outdoors. The deck offers views across the property, and the vineyard is in peak spring form.
“The lawns are green, Mum’s roses are blooming, and the vines are full of fresh leaves,” Sarah said.
“It’s just a beautiful time to visit.”
This is a rare peek into a family-owned winery where everything is done in-house and not often open to the public.
“Mum and Dad bought the property in 1983,” said Sarah.
“We grow the grapes, make the wine, bottle and label it all ourselves. You’ll be tasting with the people who make it happen, the whole family will be here on the day.”
This weekend will share the Paracombe story told through flavour, from people who live and breathe their land, and you’re invited.
