If there’s one thing we love, it’s brunch. New spots are popping up all the time around Adelaide so we’ve compiled some of the new ones on the scene that you need to try.

The Local Canteen

In an unassuming corner store, just down the road from the hustle and bustle of Henley Square, The Local Canteen (TLC), is serving up coffee but not as you know it.

Creating a grab-and-go menu to complement the coffee offerings was important to Tom and his brother and business partner, Ben, with the pair wanting to continue the innovative theme through the food. And they’ve succeeded.

Beachside Bagels

Beachside Bagels has revealed its nine delicious bagel options, from the classic cream cheese (with a choice of plain, sriracha, blue cheese, dill or cashew cheeses), to options far more colourful! Venue Owner Zac Makins says they’ve received rave reviews since soft launching this week.

Beachside Bagels will open within the Mia Margarita building at 330 Seaview Rd, Henley Beach SA 5022.

Niju Cafe

You know it for its incredible All You Can Eat sushi but now, Japanese eatery, Nijumaru is levelling up once again with the introduction of its new all-day breakfast menu and outdoor dining garden, dubbed Niju Café.

Featuring eclectic, Japanese-centred dishes, a brekky date at Niju Cafe is far from boring and will open your eyes to a whole new way of brunching.

Bobby’s Coffee Store

Sometimes all you need for brunch is a light snack and some good coffee. Thankfully, Bobby’s coffee store fits that bill perfectly. Tucked away on a quiet backstreet in Warradale, Bobby’s is bringing its minimalist, coffee-purist style to an area that has been lacking in such. With its simple menu of pastries, bagels and of course, excellent coffee, Bobby’s is the go-to location for coffee drinkers on the move.

Few things pair together better than a hot cup of tea and a sweet, flaky pastry. Cielo doubles down on this, remind us that tea and pastries can be the ultimate morning or afternoon tea.

Coffee is a brunch staple, but sometimes all you need to start your day is a good cup of tea. The Curiositeas menu is completely vegan, and each tea on the menu is not only hand-made but is based on an ancient fairytale or mythological tale. The magic is in the details, so be sure to see if you can decipher each hidden meaning when you visit.

Fourth Hill Providore

The former Redgum and More barn has undergone a significant transformation, now serving up a variety of delectable sweet and savoury bites. The quaint, renovated barn is named after its location, being on the ‘Fourth Hill’ from Adelaide. The breakfast menu is a mixture of old-fashioned favourites and modern dishes. Gooey spinach omelettes, seasonal fruit bowls, and comforting serves of homemade baked beans can be found on the menu, alongside a hearty lunch menu.

Heat Cafe

For those of you who enjoy an active start to your day, Heat Café may be the answer for your post-workout meal. Located at the anterior of PLATFRM gym, the café offers a variety of health foods, smoothies, and juices for gym goers and the general public. Heat provides a hub for patrons to refuel, mingle, and wind down after feeling the burn from the gym.

Koyo

If you’re after a hearty Asian-fusion style brunch or a simple matcha latte, KOYO seems to have all the makings of your new favourite eatery. With its stunning interior, this new Prospect Road cafe is as Instagram-able as it gets.

Paid 4 U

Paid 4 U Cafe’s revolutionary concept is based on the idea that with every meal purchased at the cafe, you are essentially paying for the next person’s meal. The offerings at the cafe are made with the intent to not sacrifice quality for convenience. With the help of donations, the meals that are offered are valuable and nutritious.

Room 19

For anybody interested in reimagined brunch meals, Room 19 should be on your list of venues to visit. The small but cosy coffee shop aims to incorporate Asian elements to an Australian brunch menu. Plus, half the menu is vegan and gluten free, so there will be a little something for everyone.

The Run House

It isn’t often professional athletes open a café, which might be why The Run House is such an interesting café. Alongside coffee, breakfast treats such as almond croissants, banana bread and bliss balls are also available, as well as a range of running apparel, compression garments, sports micronutrition products, and sports drinks.

The Run House provides a “special place for runners, and health and fitness-minded individuals”, as well as any person looking for a “homely feel” and a coffee fix.

Seed & Stone

If you’ve ever wondered how to combine fast food and salad (with some artisanal coffee for good measure) then look no further than Seed and Stone salad bar. Holding a reputation for the best coffee in the central market, the much-loved venue moved to a new location on Pirie Street. Swing by to taste their delicious hotpots and coffee with a sustainability focus.

Sunday Co

Created by Pastors Jake and Holly Toogood, Sunday Co opened its doors as a youth church in March of this year and has now expanded to include its very own café.

Holding a service each Sunday at their modern space in Mount Barker, Sunday Co also offers a mid-week service on a Wednesday evening for those who can’t make it over the weekend. The coffee store, however, will be open from 7am to all whether you be a church-goer or not. The Toogood’s vision for their newest venture is to create a welcoming environment for all to connect with others and get some good, local coffee while they’re at it.

Young and Younger

Family run businesses often have a reputation for being friendly and welcoming, so it isn’t a surprise brotherly duo Sam and Will Young run one of the friendliest cafes in Adelaide. Wander in order a cuppa – with beans from local roaster Vice Coffee along with a range of milk and alternative milks on offer.

If you’re after a bite to eat, their selection of cakes also caters for dietary needs such as vegan and gluten-free, with fare from local bakers Dukes and Western and Adelaide Hills Rustic Baking.
