A new initiative run by the Adelaide Economic Development Agency, ‘Dinner’s On Us’, will give away 5000 dinner vouchers to spend at CBD and North Adelaide restaurants this winter, encouraging South Australians to head to the city over the colder months.

Eager diners can register for a Dinner’s On Us voucher from today, with opportunities to register closing on 21 June.

Lucky winners will then receive their voucher via email by Friday 25 June to redeem at participating restaurants between 1 July and 31 August.

Dinner’s On Us is part of the ‘Hit the Town’ campaign by the Adelaide Economic Development Agency, promoting more than 50 festivals, events, and performances across the CBD and North Adelaide this winter, including the much-anticipated Illuminate Adelaide, SALA Festival and the Adelaide Cabaret Festival.

$30 from customer food bills will be deducted, with the AEDA reimbursing each restaurant every week for the value of vouchers that have been redeemed.

With a host of participating restaurants dotted around the CBD and North Adelaide, including Aurora, Mum Cha, Stem Bar and Restaurant, Dumpling City and Gunbae Chicken and Beer, voucher winners will be able to select their favourite cuisine for their discounted dining experience.

AEDA chair Nikki Govan said the Dinner’s On Us campaign could inject $150,000 into CBD and North Adelaide restaurants, as well as supporting additional spending across the city.

“The city will be abuzz this winter as we get South Australians off the couch and into the CBD and North Adelaide to have a meal and explore everything there is to see and do” she says.

“With more than 50 events scheduled for the CBD and North Adelaide across winter, there’s something for everyone, as we demonstrate that Adelaide’s festival season has well and truly extended beyond March”.

The dinner vouchers aim to drive foot traffic into the city to support the hospitality sector throughout winter, one of the worst affected sectors throughout COVID-19.

Dinner’s On Us comes after the Adelaide Economic Development Agency’s Long Lunch campaign earlier this year, which saw $30 vouchers given away to lucky winners to treat themselves to a midday meal in the city.

Businesses can register to participate in the Dinner’s On Us initiative here by 15 June.
