The Rob Roy Hotel is set to launch a mouthwatering (and reasonably priced!) $18 bi-weekly All-You-Can-Eat Buffet to give local families access to hearty, affordable and delicious meals.
Manager Sylvia says she hopes this initiative can help the community and bring people together.
“A lot of locals are struggling financially and aren’t able to bring their kids out for a nice meal to eat out” she said.
Starting next week, indulge in a mouthwatering spread that caters to all tastes with mix of aussie pub classics and asian-fusion delights for just $18 per person for adults and $9 for kids under 12. Whether diners are craving comforting classics or adventurous new flavours, this all-you-can-eat spread is sure to delight.
Owning a few cafe’s around the state, Sylvia says they’ve noticed a decline in customers over the last few years as the cost of living crunch continues.
“Especially during winter, it was really quiet,” she commented.
“People weren’t going out to spend money anymore.”
The team at Rob Roy came up with the idea for an affordable buffet not for the profits, but to help, according to Sylvia. This initiative is about supporting local families with current economic challenges by creating a welcoming environment where delicious dining is accessible to all.
When they first advertised the buffet, it gained a lot of interest.
“It was really popular online, lots of people were calling and asking when it will start,” Sylvia said.
The bi-weekly buffet will kick of Tuesday the 1st of October with a Tuesday night sitting [5-9pm] and a Sunday lunch service [12-3pm].
“When most of the buffets around town are close to $50 per head, this gives families a more affordable option,” she added.
With spaces due to fill up quickly, advance bookings are essential. Buffet service will be subject to function room availability, so guests are encouraged not to miss out on this opportunity and book ahead to share a meal with family and friends.
During the week, diners can also enjoy happy hour 4-6pm Tuesday to Friday with $6 pints and $7 house wines or lunch specials between 11am-3pm weekdays.
Take a step into a British time capsule, with the hotel’s vast history celebrated throughout the integrated indoor and outdoor spaces.
“The hotel has a Scottish background and we’ve kept the history alive with the decor,” Sylvia said.
Sketches of the original Rob Roy Hotel date back to 1850, offering a fascinating glimpse into the architectural heritage of Adelaide. Established by Robert Peter, the hotel was first licensed in 1840, making it the second oldest continuously operating hotel in the city, following only the Queen’s Head in North Adelaide.
Over the decades, the Rob Roy Hotel has evolved into a cherished community hub, with a menu that reflects local flavours, the owners’ Asian heritage and seasonal ingredients, all while surrounded by the historic ambiance that has welcomed generations.
The Rob Roy Hotel invites everyone to enjoy their new buffet experience, where great flavour and friendliness and affordable prices meet – come hungry and leave happy!
