2010 FilmLab Low Budget Screening Program

 The South Australian Film Corporation (SAFC), in association with the Media Resource Centre, is pleased to present the 2010 FilmLab Low Budget Screening Program; a series of eight low budget films screened FREE over eight Tuesdays this winter at the Mercury Cinema.

 See an exciting and diverse line up of micro to low budget feature dramas, documentaries, and animation from around the globe. Films range in budget from $70 to AUD$1million with many recognised by some of the world’s leading festivals including Cannes, Sundance, SXSW and Toronto. 

Four films in this year’s program will have their Australian premiere and select screenings will include a Skype Q&A session with the filmmaker directly following the screening.

 The screening program will run at the Mercury Cinema every Tuesday night at 6pm for eight weeks beginning on 29 June and concluding 17 August.  Entry is FREE.

 FilmLab is a $4.2million development initiative of the SAFC, funded by the South Australian Government which provides professional and career development opportunities for South Australian filmmakers through an intensive and bespoke development program culminating in the production of low budget films. The Screening Program is designed to demonstrate what’s possible in the low budget filmmaking realm.  Anyone interested in applying for the 2010 FilmLab in take which is open now and closes on September 6 is encouraged to attend the screening program.
