Adelaide 2012/13 New Years Eve Guide

This New Year’s Eve, we have plenty of options of what to do and where to go. At the bottom of this guide, we’ve also included some great ideas from Sydney if you’re planning on travelling interstate for the festivities. Our South Australian guide will be updated right up until NYE, so keep checking back for ideas! South Australia – MAJOR EVENTS

Elder Park, from 7pm.

Adelaide City Council’s FREE New Year’s Eve event promises a great night of entertainment and fireworks. Elder Park will swing to the sounds of soul, funk, blues and folk rock in a musical line-up sure to please all tastes and ages. The historic Rotunda will provide the focal point for live entertainment and the night sky will light up with two rounds of spectacular fireworks designed by award-winning Foti International Fireworks. People will be able to enjoy the array of international food and purchase beverages from the licensed New Year’s Eve Beer Garden. There will be no BYO alcohol allowed at the event.

Glenelg, from 6pm. Come and celebrate the new year in the true South Aussie style by heading down to the Bay. Families can enjoy their own fireworks for the kids at 9.30pm at Brighton Jetty, or join with everyone else for the midnight display at Glenelg. The family friendly event will begin at 6pm; with a special fireworks display at 9.30pm at Glenelg and Brighton Jetties before the main display at midnight at Glenelg Jetty. The Voice grand finalist Rachael Leahcar also includes Supertonic, DJ Jakki J and the very popular Ti…cklish Allsorts.

South Australia – DINNERS

Adelaide Casino

North New Years Eve Dinner

Welcome in the New Year with an exquisite five course degustation menu by Chef de Cuisine Sato Kikuchi, in North Restaurant starting from 7pm. They have the option to pay for food only or to have the package which includes wines to match with each course

Food Only Option- $110 per person
Includes a five course degustation menu. All beverages will be charged on consumption and must be paid for on the night.

Food and Wine Package – $160 per person
For people who choose the food and beverage package, one glass of selected wine is included with each course and continuous soft drinks throughout the night.

Seating – Adelaide Casino will be opening up North and also utilising the alfresco area on the night, so please let them know if you seating preference. The outside area of North Restaurant will be private to their dining customers only and all tables are non-smoking. Bookings are available from 7.00 pm until 9.30pm.

Entertainment – The jazz quartet “Souzi and the Coolmints” will entertain you whilst you dine and they will also have room to have a dance. Entry is permitted into the Casino after you have dined in North to enjoy many of the live bands and attractions.

For $90 guests will enjoy a first class culinary experience feasting on 5 delicious courses with a glass of French sparkling on arrival plus first drink at “The Curious Squire” afterwards with our compliments


Amuse Bouche: Duck liver parfait, tomato basil sorbet, beef tartare, brioche toast

Entrée 1: Porcini mushroom risotto with Woodside goat’s cheese, baked portobello mushroom and balsamic reduction
