Adelaide fashion powerhouse label Alexis George and relative newcomer to the scene, Lexi, showcased their latest collections on the runway at Adelaide Fashion Festival on Friday night.
Lexi opened the show, giving a modern twist on the Emperors New Clothes. Barely there dresses, and couture gowns left little to the imagination, but were stunning nonetheless. With made-to-measure designs, the more modest of us can of course, have linings added to the designs. Strong woven style fabrics appeared throughout skirts and dress frames, with minimalistic wrap tops peppering the collection. The collection still surprisingly managed to look youthful and feminine. And edgy. A must for those wanting to stand out in the crowd.
The beautiful delicate designs from Alexis George were also show-stopping pieces, with plenty of sheer fabrics, and risqué pieces amongst the collection. It’s easy to see why it’s one of Adelaide’s most iconic designer brands.
