If you love cycling, you’ll know ALL about Santos Tour Down which rolls into Adelaide each January. Apart from the cycling, one of the most coveted events of the sporting week is the Santos Tour Down Under Legends’ Night Dinner, which celebrates the best in cycling: the athletes who ride into the record books and the machines that take them over the line. It’s also a chance for everyday fans to dine with their sporting heroes, and hear them speak candidly on stage about their careers, and their experiences. It’s also one of our favourite events of the year.

In 2018 the Legends’ Night Dinner will celebrate the legends of the TDU, the climbers, the sprinters, the winners – and it’s guaranteed to be a night full of legends and stories: a night not to be missed!

2002 TDU winner, Michael Rogers has confirmed his seat at the table and is excited to be returning to the event to celebrate all things Santos Tour Down Under.

“The TDU holds a special place in my heart and was really my favourite race of the cycling year,” said Michael Rogers.

“I am not only looking forward to being part of the 20 year celebrations but to get back together and reunite with my Aussie cycling tribe. Being honoured at the Legends’ Night Dinner for my contribution to the race is really humbling.”

Cycling fans and guests will enjoy a three-course meal and fine wines as they hear stories direct from current and past cyclists – how they felt when on the verge of victory and what inspired their most memorable rides.

Minister for Tourism, Hon Leon Bignell said “the Legends’ Night Dinner is always a highlight of the Santos Tour Down Under, celebrating world class athletes who ride into the record books and ultimately claim legend status in the cycling world.”

2018 will see the TDU celebrate 20 years of cycling legends with 14 overall winners of the event. It is time to take a step back in time to remember each moment and victory as past winners tell their tales of triumph.

“This year’s dinner celebrates 14 champions who have made their mark on the TDU during the past 20 years.  Let’s get behind these superstars of cycling for an inspiring and enjoyable night.” said the Minister.
