Adelaide Fashion Festival presented by Mercedes-Benz Adelaide & Unley is bringing game-changing events and runways to its second program release for 2018.
The Adelaide Fashion Festival (AFF) will showcase some of the country’s leading brands – including many born in Adelaide – in exciting collaborations and formats for the first time.
AFF is turning up the ‘TGIF vibes’ with a runway show from Australia’s favourite partywear retailer BNKR followed by TDE World – a customised carnival created exclusively for AFF by the luxury lifestyle brand.
BNKR Runway plus TDE World will see BNKR’s Adelaide created brands C/MEO Collective, Finders Keepers, Keepsake the Label, The Fifth Label and Jaggar as one cohesive and integrated collection – a first for the iconic retailer.
After the runway, TDE World will bring the AFF Grounds to life with the magic of your favourite fairground; themed sideshow games, activities and a swag of TDE prizes that can be customised on site.
“A runway show that then goes into a themed amusement park, this has to be a world first! It’s going to be such a fun, amazing event and I’m really proud to bring this to my home town of Adelaide,” TDE co-founder Alyce Tran said.
The closing runway for AFF18 will showcase two of Australia’s most in-demand and influential brands at Super Saturday: Acler & Aje. Both labels will present collections never before seen on a public runway; Aje will show Resort ’18 that is inspired by – and features – work from esteemed Australian artist Brett Whitely, while Acler will close with Resort ’19 and the global debut of Winter ’19.
AFF creative director Chris Kontos said Super Saturday was be a fashion moment not to miss.
“To have Acler and Aje showing on the AFF Runway is major; these brands are internationally relevant and have unique points of view about design and style,” he said.
“It will be the first time Acler’s Winter ’19 collection is seen on the runway, and the first chance for consumers to see Aje’s exquisite Brett Whitely resort wear.”
The dynamic design duo behind Acler – Kathryn Forth and Julia Ritorto – will also share insights into how they create clothes that women just want to wear with an unprecedented Masterclass with Acler.
The ultimate ‘cool-girl’ brand has become synonymous with luxe sophistication and edgy design and detail, attracting the attention of fashion-forward identities such as Beyonce and Katy Perry.
Finally, Adelaide’s original fashion and design market Gilles at the Grounds will present a special edition – The Fashion Edit – at Wayville Showgrounds on Sunday 21 October.
Featuring an emerging designer section plus a broad selection of local creatives and vintage fashion, the markets will offer some retail therapy for those inspired by the week’s activities.
Showcasing innovative South Australian design and style, the AFF will run from October 17- 21, 2018.
Tickets are now on sale.
