The winners of the Australian Marmalade Awards were announced on Sunday at Beaumont House as part of the Festival of Marmalade.
Local favourites Fiaje, took out a swag of medals, with two of their four entries receiving gold medals. The Gin & Tonic Lime Marmalade and Cumquat Marmalade were both awarded Gold, along with rave reviews. Fiaje also took home two silver awards for their Pimmalade, and 3-in-1 Marmalade.
Larder and Spade (Annette Guyatt, Gippsland) was also awarded Gold for her Loch Gin Marmalade.
There were two Artisan Double Gold winners, who were jointly awarded medals;
Larder & Spade (Annette, VIC) – Three Fruit marmalade; and
Gourmet to Go (Irene) – Seville orange marmalade
The Champion Home-Made Marmalade Maker for 2019 was announced as Reuben Kooperman for his Tangelo and Sullivan’s Cove Malt Whisky.
In the home-made gold stakes, there were multiple winners, including:
Janet MacDonald (from Vic, by phone) – mandarin marmalade
Joe Kianlip – 2 gold for Cumquat and tangelo marmalade and lemon, lime, car acara orange and kaffir lime leaf marmalade
George Potter – Cumquat liqueur grapefruit marmalade
Isaia (Issy) Douvartidis – Cumquat, lemon & orange blossom honey marmalade
Di Wilkins – Seville orange marmalade
Bev Harper (2018 champion) – Poorman’s orange and yuzu marmalade
Reuben Kooperman (from WA) 2 gold – Tangelo and limoncello marmalade and Tangelo and Cointreau marmalade.
