2023 South Australian Premier’s Food and Beverage Industry Awards finalists announced

The finalists for the 2023 South Australian Premier’s Food and Beverage Industry Awards have been announced today.

The finalists for the 2023 South Australian Premier’s Food and Beverage Industry Awards were announced today, showcasing South Australia’s culinary stars.

Managed by the state’s apex food and beverage industry body, Food South Australia, the awards cast a spotlight on the best the industry has to offer, celebrating excellence, leadership and innovation across the South Australian food and beverage industry.

The awards, presented with financial backing from the Government of South Australia through the Department for Trade and Investment, are an annual affair. This year, the awards encompass 14 categories, and the competition has been fierce.

The finalists were announced by Minister for Trade and Investment Nick Champion, and the list includes a blend of well-established stalwarts and budding businesses from the South Australian food and beverage landscape.

An essential highlight of the awards is the Consumer Award category, where the top 20 food and beverage brands of South Australia are vying for victory. This particular category witnessed overwhelming public participation, with more than 8,200 votes cast.

Food South Australia CEO Marni Cook said the calibre of entries in this year’s awards demonstrates how much the industry is growing and thriving.

“All entries received this year reflect the strong values and community spirit that characterise the South Australian food and beverage industry, and deciding on the finalists was a challenge for the judges, especially given the quality of products and services showcased as part of the process,” Marni says.

“All finalists should be commended on making it this far, and we look forward to further celebrating their achievements at the upcoming Gala Dinner. These awards go beyond merely crowning a champion; they serve as a vital means of recognising all entrants and providing them with the support, learning opportunities and connections that contribute to the vibrancy of our food and beverage industry, solidifying its standing as the most important sector in this state.”

“Growing business capability is a vital pillar of Food South Australia’s strategic platform, and we’re delighted to have been able to invite all entrants to participate in this year’s Retail Ready Program, sponsored by Foodland Supermarkets, which provides valuable retail support and relationship building opportunities directly with Foodland, one of the many benefits of entering the awards.”

Premier of South Australia Peter Malinauskas also weighed in on the significance of these awards.

“South Australia’s food and beverage industry has a strong global reputation and is a significant contributor to our State’s economy. I’m proud to be associated with this prestigious awards program, which acknowledges this sector’s invaluable contribution – especially after navigating through some particularly challenging years,” he says.

Winners across all categories will be announced at the Awards Gala Dinner on Friday 10th November 2023 – the biggest event on the South Australian food and beverage industry calendar. Tickets can be purchased here.
