The summer of sport is getting better and better in Adelaide, as the Women’s Australian Open returns this March to the Kooyonga Golf Club, bringing an all-star lineup of Australia’s top golf talent.
Taking over the Lockleys course from March 12th to 15th, headlining the field is world No. 3 and three-time major champion Minjee Lee, who will tee it up on home soil alongside fellow major winner Grace Kim. The pair are both aiming to become the first Australian to win the national Open since Karrie Webb claimed the title, adding their names to Australian golf history.
Joining them is another major champion, Hannah Green, one of Australia’s top players on the international stage, making a highly anticipated return home. “The women’s Australian Open and the WPGA Championship are two tournaments that mean a lot to me, and it’s special to be able to compete in both and celebrate women’s golf here at home,” she shared. “The fields across both events continue to get stronger each year, and it’s exciting to be part of that and to showcase the depth of talent in the women’s game, especially alongside so many Australians who are having success around the world.”
Also confirmed is LPGA star Steph Kyriacou, who has locked in back-to-back appearances at both the Women’s Australian Open in Adelaide and the Australian WPGA Championship on the Gold Coast the following week. Steph, who earned her LPGA Tour card in 2022, recorded five top-10 finishes last season, including standout performances at the Mizuho Americas Open and the T-Mobile Match Play.
“There’s nothing quite like competing at home, and being part of two tournaments with world-class fields in Adelaide and on the Gold Coast is something I’m really looking forward to,” shared Steph. “I think we will see two events that really highlight how strong women’s golf is in Australia. We’re in an awesome position at the moment.”
Across four days, fans can expect world-class competition, unforgettable moments and a great atmosphere that only a national championship can deliver. From Thursday to Sunday, Kooyonga’s pristine fairways will host the best of the WPGA Tour of Australasia and the Ladies European Tour in a co-sanctioned event that showcases the global strength of women’s golf.
With adult tickets starting at just $30 and free entry for kids, the event offers an accessible opportunity for families and sports lovers alike to witness elite athletes in action. It’s also a major win for South Australia, with the tournament supported by the South Australian Government through the South Australian Tourism Commission.
With record-breaking LIV Golf just wrapped up, Adelaide continues to make a name for itself as a destination for world-class sporting events. The 2026 Women’s Australian Open is a rare chance to see Australia’s biggest golf stars competing for glory on home turf.
