2KW will host three delicious events for Tasting Australia 2022

Glamorous rooftop bar 2KW is about to get even more delicious bringing all things cocktails, charcuterie and plant-based for Tasting Australia 2022.

One of Adelaide’s favourite rooftop bars 2KW is about to get even more delicious with a strew of Tasting Australia events.

The glamorous bar is bringing all things cocktails, charcuterie and plant-based as a part of South Australia’s annual foodie festival.

The 2022 Tasting Australia program is taking you to curious, delicious and exciting places with more than 200 events across 11 regions for 10 days from 29 April – 8 May.

2KW is hosting three ultra-special events overlooking the city through its autumn glory.

Check them out below!

Behind The Bar

The first of the tasty events on May 3 is Behind The Bar where guests are joined by brilliant bartenders to learn how to mix it with the best of the best.

Over the 1-hour session, guests will we welcomed to relax and sip two drinks made by the bartenders.

One will feature a winning tipple from the 2021 Tasting Australia Spirit Awards presented by Master Cask, while the other will be left a mystery for now.

Guests will get to discover 2KW’s philosophy, sources of inspiration and styles.

The event will run on Tuesday May 3 from 3:30pm-4:30pm.

Tickets are $50 and you can purchase these here.

Plant Based Long Lunch

On May 4, 2KW will be serving serious sustainable vibes with a plant-based long lunch.

Executive chef Trent Lymn and head sommelier Dan McEvoy will present an extraordinary five-course plant-based menu using fresh locally sourced and sustainably produced ingredients foraged straight from the land.

It will showcase some of the chefs’ favourite local producers. While the menu is still to come, the chefs will likely use producers such as Westside Mushies, Ngeringa, Goolwa River Tomatoes, Something Wild and Creative Native.

These producers are used in 2KW’s current restaurant menu, but taking a completely plant-based approach is something new and very exciting for the restaurant. The chefs have said they are also keen to forage before the lunch and bring some items collected to the event.

All courses will be expertly paired with natural, vegan wines featuring drops from premium Adelaide Hills estate Ngeringa – known for its world-class, handcrafted and biodynamic range.

The event will run on Tuesday May 4 from 12:00pm-4:00pm.

Tickets are $195 and can be purchased here.

The Charcuterie Festival

On May 7, it’s time to indulge in the ultimate drink pairing food of Charcuterie. The board of contrasting flavours and textures which is perfect for grazing with friends is hyped for this exact reason.

It’s focus is easy finger food with nibbles for everyone to enjoy.

The festival will run in a similar format to previous years with Massi Corrandini from Parma Handcrafted Meats joining the 2KW team again this year.

There will be a variety of food options with tables manned by 2KW’s team of chefs as well as roaming canapés and pizza.

Fishbank – located on the ground floor of 2 King William – made an appearance last year with a Bluefin Tuna bresaola and a Swordfish Prosciutto. 2KW are hoping they’ll return for 2022 too.

The festival will run on May 7 from 12pm – 2:30pm.

Tickets are $129 each with all food and beverages included. Purchase tickets here.
