The team from 2KW are proud to have claimed the award of Best Metropolitan Restaurant at this year’s SA Australian Hotel Association (AHA) Awards for the third year running. On the back of this tremendous effort, 2KW also won Best Outdoor or Non-Enclosed facility – a tribute the unique and beautiful venue.
2KW Marketing Manager, Erinn Longe, says this long-maintained reputation of Best Metropolitan Restaurant is a huge team effort and much deserved.
“We were all thrilled! A third win in a row is a great achievement by the team – those are the people I would chalk this up to,” she said. “Our Front and back of house, plus everyone else in between, are the people who make 2KW what it is.”
As for the Best Outdoor Facility Awards, it’s a no-brainer why 2KW continues to stand out from the crowd.
“2KW’s outdoors, our garden, our cabanas, and our terrace really are unique,” Erinn continued. “Our team work very hard to create a great and memorable experience for our guests as soon as those elevator doors open. The 2KW view though is always a welcome sight, there’s nothing quite like it.”
Following the recent departure of Trent Lymn, newly-appointed Executive Chef Sam Christopher is committed to continuing on this incredible legacy.
“Sam has been a great new addition. He, like Trent, has a passion for native Australian ingredients and using them in cooking. This has been a signature of 2KW’s style for years, so to see this carried through is incredible,” says Erinn.
“2KW is also known for it’s Josper Oven, and the subtle flavour it imparts on our dishes. Sam is taken the helm of the Josper and his currently creating his own menu.”
South Australia’s AHA is nationally recognised as promoting the pursuit of excellence across hundreds of SA hotels to benefit the community and tourists. Consisting of a professional team of experts, the AHA works as an essential part of SA’s hospitality and tourism industry.
All SA winners, including 2KW, will now be entered into the AHA National Hotel Awards, to be held in Sydney on Monday 28 November.
