Just when you think that Adelaide simply couldn’t hold any more venues, we look outside of the CBD to discover 3 new hot spots, all freshly opened and aching for your approval.
We begin in the East with restaurant Stone’s Throw, who appear to be all about quality food and wine. We can only speculate about the name; it could be a reference to how close Norwood is to the CBD, but we’d prefer to think it’s in honour of the Los Angeles based record label housing the likes of Madlib, J Dilla and Peanut Butter Wolf. We guess that’s a question to ask them when you head in to chow down on some of their delicious fare.
Stone’s Throw are located at 127 The Parade, Norwood.
Next we find a new location for a French Patisserie just off Jetty Road, and another addition to already diverse food trade along the strip as we await summer. Remy & Violette are a breakfast, lunch and coffee nook offering not only a perfect weekend brunch destination, but classic sweets prepared and served lovingly. Yes, you should eat sweets for breakfast. You’re an adult and can do what you damn well want!
Remy & Violette are located at 3 Elizabeth St, Glenelg.
And last, but certainly not the least anticipated in our list is Beach Bum. This Hawaiian/Japanese fusion is the latest in the long list of additions from Walter Venturawitz (Cliche, Tony Tomatoes, Mexican Society, Hispanic Mechanic, Ruby Red Flamingo, Gin Long etc.) with HN3 artist Henry Jarman creating one of his last pieces in Adelaide before his recent departure for New York City. You don’t even really have to guess with these guys. They ooze confidence and a menu that pushes the boundaries.
Beach Bum is located at 47 O’Connell St, North Adelaide.
So, who’s hungry?
