Henley Beach café 303 By The Sea has announced its closure, yet you can still enjoy its delicious menu and wonderful essence through its owners’ other cafés.

The team took to their social media yesterday to announce the close, with their last day of trade set for Friday October 29 in two weeks’ time.

303 By The Sea posted on their Facebook and Instagram that they are closing with heavy hearts.

“The landlord has decided to cancel our lease and has given us until the end of this month to move out,” they stated.

“303 was our first baby and we are proud of everything we and our amazing team have achieved here.

“It has allowed us to open two other cafés and a restaurant, employ so many amazing people and meet and interact will so many colourful and friendly customers, many whom we consider friends.

“Thank you for your love and support over the last 6 years!”

Partners Rik Fisher and Alex Smith opened 303 By The Sea at Henley Beach in a spot that was often unsuccessful.

It had been a pizza place, an ice cream shop and had also just sat empty for an extended period of time. Yet after taking over the space, 303 By The Sea grew to become one of the best brunch and café spots at Henley.

Just a short stroll from the main square, 303 By The Sea made a name for itself for serving delicious food and wonderful coffee.

The perfectly placed building on the corner of Seaview Road and North Street was finally shown the love that it deserves. Rik and Alex breathed life into the space capturing the beachy essence of the location.

After their smashing debut with 303 By The Sea, Rik and Alex then opening their second café. They reinvented themselves by adding Oar Lakeside to their Kingdom bringing brilliance to West Lakes shores.

In 2019, they then brought their delectable goodness to the North and opened Kitchensmith in Mawson Lakes.

With not enough on their plates, the duo then opened 30 Acres on the Parade where products served are grown and sourced from their farm in Ashton. They lovingly create mouth-watering dishes for their customers, taking the journey from farm to plate.

While their first baby has now closed, those who love the brunch spot can still enjoy it’s amazing food as its spirit lives on through its sibling cafés.

Rik says customers will still be able to enjoy 303 By The Sea particularly at Oar Lakeside as certain menu items and its popular drinks will soon be offered at this location.

Rik says each of his and Alex’s cafes are different in their own way, but 303 is where it all started

“When comparing 303 to our other cafes, they are different, yet still feel very familiar,” Rik says.

“We love people stopping in to see us and have made many friends during our time at 303.

“We hope this will continue and we look forward to seeing everyone at Oar, Kitchensmith and 30 Acres!”

Pop past 303 By The Sea for one last coffee before heading to its sister spots to continue enjoying Rik and Alex’s amazing work.
