50SixOne Launch In Mt Barker With Free Freak Shakes

The popular Hype Park 50sixone cafe launched their second store in Mt Barker with free freak shakes!

50SIXONE opened its doors in Mount Barker last Saturday to an eager crowd of sweet tooths, with many lining up in the dark well before the 7am opening. Hills folk were treated to a grand cafe launch when the team from Hyde Park’s 50sixone opened their second store.

To celebrate their launch, diners were treated to free freak shakes and samples all day. Queues started outside the new premises at 5.30am before its opening at 7am. The lord mayor was also invited to cut the ribbon and officially open the cafe which is set to employ 30 local staff.

Dedicated fans had set up camp from just before sunrise to experience the iconic shakes on offer, like “Love is in the Aero” and “OMG Snapchat That!”

Artistic local staff served over ONE THOUSAND amazing shakes free to dessert lovers who waited for up to 3 hours to taste the insta worthy delights.

In true 50sixone style their menu is an eclectic mix of normal cafe fare like breakfasts and bruschetta (but with an exciting twist) to indulgent treats such as deal fried Oreo donuts with fairy floss, maple bacon meringue cake and for the over 18’s Lemon Meringue Martinis!!

Staff are friendly and accommodating in this busy bustling little cafe. Expect a little wait though as this place settles into its new home and grows in popularity.

“We had a bit of an idea what to expect being our second opening. Having said that, Mount Barker has really blown us away! Everyone one has been so welcoming. We’re looking forward to everyone experiencing our amazing desserts and all day breakfast menu.” Said Simon Flocco Co-Founder.

The spectacle continued throughout the day with people coming from all over South Australia.

The crowd of dessert lovers lining up were all smiles when they were treated to a surprise flash mob performance by local dance troupe RockIt Performing Arts. RockIt representative Noni says “We had a number of kids in here with anxiety, these types of positive performances really help build their self-esteem”

“We are humbled by the love and support from the Community” said Co-Founder Anthony Canova, who himself has relocated his family to Mount Barker, going on to say “I’m excited to raise my children in this beautiful town”.
