There are stacks of Adelaide fashion labels out there, with more and more newbies emerging every month, however there’s always a few that stand out from the pack. Here’s some of our favourite labels, who you may not have heard of, but are ones to watch – ranging from mysteriously dark gothic to summery beach feels.
Free at Heart
This new Adelaide label is rocking the handmade leather scene with stylish and timeless pieces from genuine leather jackets, skirts, shorts and accessories. With a genuine love for leather, they want to bring quality, beautifully handmade leather clothes to the market at prices that everyone can afford without compromising the quality or the finish of the garment, and so Free @ Heart was born. Selling through their website, Facebook and Instagram they’re are able to keep the prices affordable for everyone.
Regal & Victorian inspired designer, Tori Anne Gill, launched her label Dark Thorn in 2013. With a vintage, mysterious, punk rock feel, her designs are structured with lace trimmings, embroidery and textured fabrics which allowed her to build a distinctive brand.
Luxurious and quality are both assets of Stephanie Chehade’s clothing. Debuting her collection in 2014, she has been killing it in the game with high end designs with luxurious silks, lace and organic fabrics.
Premium and contemporary label, Olivers Reef, has a relaxed beach vibe – with the love for silk and soft cashmere. From flowy maxi dresses to soft cosy jumpers for those lazy weekends or when you just want feel comfortable, this is a label to look into if you haven’t already.
Autark is a luxury brand created by Sophia McMahon in 2016 where she first debuted her collection at AFF. Timeless, quality pieces, the range features different textures including cotton, cotton velvet, and silks to make you feel and look fab.
STONE Label creates quality, simple and timeless pieces for the every day woman. Adelaide designer, Laura Hanna, had a vision where she created her own label ‘Laura Jayne The Label’ however decided to create a career out of this ‘hobby’ and transformed it into brand and created ‘STONE’.
Alpha-Be The Label
Establishing Alpha-Be The Label in 2015, Brenda Chang and Cathy Karuga wanted to give women the tools to be bold in their wardrobe choices, without compromising the price and quality. Focussing on the details, fabric and silhouettes, the “whimsical wonderland” collection was launched at NYFW Spring/Summer 17 through Fashion Palette.
Sylvy Earl designs and creates custom made accessories focussing on each and every intricate detail. From cool sand coloured sun hats to delicate headpieces, her designs are bound to add a little sophistication to your look.
