Over two epic weekends, the annual Garage Sale Trail will be coming to Port Adelaide, making all your thrifting dreams come to life. Registrations for the event are now open so it’s time to finally clean out the cluttered mess which you call a wardrobe.
If you’re in the market to shop, the event is a great opportunity to splurge and cure that shopping addiction of yours without having to worry about the environmental impacts.
Garage Sale Trail was co-founded by Andrew and Dazz, originally from Bondi built the idea after hosting a second-hand popup at a local festival. From there the project absolutely blew up, making a name for itself on a global stage.
With over 100 councils pitching in from all over the country to make the project a reality, Port Adelaide City Enfield will be getting into the spirit of things. This year – things are turning retro with an 80s theme taking over.
The event also includes workshops online which you can also register for hosted by a bunch of big Aussie names; think Annabel Crabb and Barry Du Bois speaking on their experiences in their respective fields. Even talks from economists will be accessible online to
Not only will there be heaps of in-person garage sales, but there will also be ones hosted online making the event accessible even if you can’t make it down to Port Adelaide.
With a whopping 200,000 people hosting garage sales last year, the event is making leaps and bounds in the sustainability sector. The two weekends filled with garage sales will take place on November 12 – 13 and 19 – 20 so make sure to register before then.
Taking home countless environmental awards, the project continues to grow, with the trail even being taken on by the UK Government. Both weekends will show Adelaide how easy it can be to shop sustainably and minimise our impacts on the environment.
