After nearly four years of late-night burgers, tropical cocktails, 90s R&B, and weekend chaos on Hindley Street, 99 Gang Social has announced it’s entering its final stretch of trade in its current form.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, the Gang Gang crew revealed that the beloved burger bar and disco den will close temporarily from October 12 to 29, before returning for a two-week farewell run from October 29 to November 9. Those last nights will feature what they’re calling a “Greatest Hits” menu, a nod to the venue’s signature dishes and party atmosphere that made it a favourite among Adelaide’s nocturnal crowd.
“We’ll be back from the 29th of October to the 9th of November for our final weeks of trade, with a ‘Greatest Hits’ menu, Club99 vibes, and nothing but good times as we close this chapter,” the post read.
The team confirmed that once the doors close in November, 99 Gang Social will no longer operate regular trading hours, but it’s not the end of the Gang story. The venue will remain available for private events and functions, while the crew refocuses their energy on food trucks, festivals, and catering, the kinds of roving, high-energy fun where they believe the “Gang spirit truly thrives.”
“Thank you to each and every person who’s been part of this ride. It’s bittersweet, but we’re excited for the next chapter with you all.”
The comments section was flooded with love from fellow hospo heads and weekend crowds who enjoyed an after-hours boogie, cheeky burger, and maybe too many mixed drinks. Many reminisced on “endless memories,” “after-show feeds,” and the “Club99 chaos” that defined Adelaide’s late-night scene over the past few years.

The closure marks a full-circle moment for the Good Time Gang collective. What began as a cult-favourite food truck grew into Gang Gang Deli on Unley Road in 2019. Then came the late-night expansion – 99 Gang Social in 2021 – a red and white tiled Hindley Street bolthole with a floating DJ booth and disco. In 2022, Thirsty Tiger joined the family, an upstairs Asian–Californian sister venue with just as much disco (now closed, with “evolution in progress”). By 2024, the team had opened Gang Gang Deli Eden Hills (still operating), shortly after farewelling Unley Road. Now, as Adelaide’s nightlife continues to evolve post-pandemic, the Gang returns to its pop-up roots.
So if you’re craving one last Route 66 burger, Pandan Piña Colada, or dance under the disco ball, you’ve got until November 9 to do it. After that, the Gang hits the road once more, bringing the party and the burgers to wherever Adelaide needs it next. I’ll be keeping my eyes peeled for the neon fire sign, that’s for sure.
