A boozy boat pop-up tasting has arrived on the River Torrens

Kangaroo Island Spirits is hosting tasting tours aboard Popeye, and we couldn’t be more excited to experience the spirit of KI.

A boozy boat tasting tour has popped up on the Torrens River, and aboard spirits are high.

Popeye’s Kangaroo Island Spirits (KIS) Tasting Tours launches today and will take place until April 2nd.

The epic events will take place each Friday and Saturday with time slots ranging from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm, so you can book a cruisey afternoon or a boozy evening.

Guests will get on the boat at the Elder Park landing and then float along the river in the classic, blue and white “Popeye” boat while listening to live music and drinking.

Aboard the boat, there will be a bar stocked with local beer, wine, and Kangaroo Island gin and vodka, so expect to taste some amazing drinks for this 18+ party.

Tasting tours run for an hour and a half and a Kangaroo Island Spirits representative will walk you through the experience, giving guests an insider knowledge on how the spirits are crafted and distilled.

Locally sourced Kangaroo Island snacks will be served to accompany each tasting and will be served in a very fitting bamboo boat.

A Kangaroo Island Spirits representative said the Popeyes Tasting Tour is a great opportunity for those who can’t make it to Kangaroo Island to experience the beauty of KI from Adelaide.

Popeyes administrate assistance Jody Weir said Popeyes is excited to bring Kangaroo Island to the city.

“Let Kangaroo Island Spirits take the helm.”

“Join us at Popeye on a vibrant tasting tour whilst cruising along The Torrens River.”

“Wouldn’t be a day out without some yummy cheese and a few KIS’!”

Jody continued by joking, it’s “best to enjoy all three tastings before you KIS the nearest sailor.”

The vibrant tasting tour along the Torrens River offers guests exclusive city views that cannot be experienced from any other angle.

Aboard guests will be served three of the fourteen spirits KIS currently distil at their craft distillery in Kangaroo Island. The spirits on offer rotate bi-monthly which means each cruise will always delight new senses.

KIS tasting tour will be a boozy, fun time, but it will also bring the tunes and highlight the nature of the surrounding area.
