Be swept away to the streets of South America for a one-night festa with a Taste of Brazil on Friday February 25.
Taking over Light Square from 6pm, the vibrant event will celebrate the beauty of Brazil with an authentic cultural experience.
With dancers glimmering in jewels and feathers, wafts of freshly fried Brazilian pastries in the air and the soothing sweet rhythm of Bossa Nova, you might just mistake the city for a Brazilian Fiesta.
The night is being brought to you by Brasilatino Studios which offers Brazilian and Latin Dance Classes taught by world-renowned instructors.
While they have held events like this is the past, this will be their biggest festa yet and their first as a part of the Adelaide Fringe.
“Basically, the night is exactly what the name sounds like – a taste of Brazil,” Brasilatino Studios co-director and co-owner Rachel Kempson said.
“We are doing our best to bring Brazil to the event.
“There will be live music from Brazilian bands, traditional Sumba bands, and girls with feathers dancing.

The live performers will be of abundance with three shows taking the stage every hours from 7pm to 9pm. While some performances will feature the same dancers, there will be only one show that will repeat more than once.
“All the different dance schools in Adelaide are coming that have Brazilian dancers – we’ve invited them to perform with us,” Rachel said.
Guests will in fact be able to have a taste of Brazil with an array of food stalls to check out.
Authentic Brazilian street food will be on offer such as Pastel de queijo – a delectable deep-fried pastry often filled with chicken when savoury but also served sweet. Chicken nibbles will be on offer too as well ice-cream to keep cool amongst the South American heat.

A range of non-alcoholic Brazilian drinks will be available with alcoholic drinks possibly on the cards too.
“Basically, it’s just about sharing the Brazilian culture with the Adelaide community,” Rachel said.
“We’re just hoping people get the see the colour, vibrance and beauty of Brazil here in Adelaide.”
A Taste of Brazil will take over Light Square in the CBD from 6pm on Friday, February 25.
