Out in the Paddock team open Ray’s, a luxe new cafe with a matcha bar & in-house floral team

The Out in the Paddock team bring bagels, salads, matcha & florals to this new eastern suburbs spot

The countdown is on for the launch of a brand new café inside the $90 million Eastwood Private Hospital, with food and flowers set to lift the experience for patients, visitors and staff.

The café is the second permanent venue from Ray Dahdah and Ally Aoukar, the duo behind the popular Ray’s at Burnside Village.

What began as a surprise success at Burnside has now inspired them to bring their fresh, fun style of dining to one of Adelaide’s newest medical facilities.

In a first for South Australia, the café will introduce in-room dining for patients and their visitors.

“There will be QR codes in the rooms that can be used to place an order, and our staff will deliver straight to the room,” says Ray Dahdah, Creative Director.

“We will also be catering for the surgeons and their staff throughout the day, from coffee and food to healthy snacks. There’s also a stunning rooftop and a beautiful open garden that we will be using for in-house events.”

The menu will lean into relaxed, healthy dining with plenty of choice for grab and go as well as dine-in.

“We will offer delicious salads, bagels, paninis and some plated items as well. We will have fresh juices, a matcha bar and delicious Rio Coffee,” says Ray.

Local produce will remain front and centre.

“Our ethos is always aligned with fresh, local produce throughout our whole business. We love what SA producers have to offer. You can’t beat our produce here in SA,” he says.

Ray is confident the café will quickly become part of the daily rhythm for staff and local workers.

“We will become an integral part of their day. From healthy meals to snacks, and great coffee to keep them caffeinated.”

“We will also be open to all neighbouring businesses and anyone else who would love to come and visit us. We have access directly from inside the hospital, but also our own access on Greenhill Road,” he says.

Adding an unexpected touch of beauty, florals will also feature alongside the food and coffee.

“We have an incredible in-house floral team that normally focuses on events. We thought we could help brighten up patients, staff and customers’ days by having a floral offering in house as well,” says Ray.

With the café on track to open by mid November, it is set to redefine hospital dining while adding a vibrant new hub for the Eastwood community.
