With SALA Festival upon us, we’re pulling out some of our top picks to check out. We heard about this quirky collaboration with cherri bellini and thought it’d be a great one to see before heading out for dinner or drinks on Rundle Street.
This year will be the first year that cherri bellini joins the incredible lineup of venues hosting SALA exhibitions. Their Rundle Street store will transform into a quirky, central venue showcasing a range of “Glitz and Glam” by local artist (and funnily enough, customer), Julie Emery.
“We had always thought of joining SALA and this year Kylie the boutique manager, who has always loved the lure of a gallery opening night, contacted Rosemarie the owner at home in Italy to suggest we put our hands up to be involved.”
“The idea stewed a while and along came Julie Emery, a 10 year running participant of SALA who just happened to walk into cherri bellini – and of course we all got to talking!”
“We felt her mixed media and paintings did well to capture the fun whimsical nature of cherri bellini and what we love – colour never hurt anyone we say!”
In the past Julie has worked on what she calls ‘My Girls’ – if you’re familiar, you can expect to see more of her colourful whimsy works included in this latest collection.
Once you’re done checking out the exhibition you’ve got plenty of options for dinner or drinks nearby like The Tasting Room, BRKLYN and The Stag.
