A gritty new music festival is coming to Adelaide this winter

From the grungy, character-filled tiles to the swooping archways of the Cloisters, and down the grassy terraces of an Adelaide cult favourite, there’s a fresh punk-forward sound pumping through the speakers.

A fresh-faced new music festival is hitting the UniBar Adelaide this winter and it’s going to be unapologetically raw, passionate, and bold.

Future Sounds is the new mini-festival, coming to Adelaide thanks to General Admission Entertainment and UniBar Adelaide. It’ll see buzzing guitars, powerful vocals, and thumping drum beats thaw out the chilly halls of the uni as the bite of winter sets in. Mark your calendars for Saturday, 14 June.

The lineup is stacked with Aussie talent and fresh sounds by some artists you might know and some you’re about to discover.

BIG NOTER

Taking the headline spot is BIG NOTER, the newest venture for iconic Shepparton artist BRIGGS.

He’s tapping into his punk sensibilities in this new project, swapping out hip-hop beats for hardcore energy, decked out with a full live band to make sure it’s extra loud, just the way we like it.

Sydney’s Shady Nasty are finally bringing their ‘Trek’ album to Adelaide, fusing punk and hip-hop in a boundary-pushing live show.

Bones and Jones hit the stage with their new record In Colour, delivering psych-rock energy that’ll leave you mesmerised. The band has toured along music icons King Gizzard and The Murlocs.

Xiao Xiao makes their Adelaide debut with punchy, post-punk attitude, while Deluna, a prog-rock-rap trio split between Adelaide, Melbourne, and Quebec, will play their first-ever live set fresh off the release of debut album ‘Chaos’.

Flying the local flag are surf-psych-reggae duo Witch Hunt, femme punk powerhouse Babyteeth, and post-hardcore act FREEGOLF from SA’s mid coast.

No matter if you’re a seasoned gig-goer or new to the scene, Future Sounds is set to give your ears a serious treat, with a lineup that pushes boundaries and cranks up the volume. Perhaps you’ll even discover your new favourite artist.

Expect heavy riffs and raw energy pulsing through the character-filled venue. Grab a round of crisp pints, maybe even venture into dark ale territory by mid-June, and claim your spot in the crowd. Sounds like a perfect Saturday arvo to me.

Student tickets for Future Sounds start at just $25, and they’re on sale now. Grab your tickets, round up your mates, and get ready to experience a setlist of live music that’s anything but ordinary.
