We’ve thrown together some tips on what to wear if you’re heading to the parklands for Polo in The City. (If you’ve got the Twilight Races then this might be of import to you too)!
We’re looking at a day of major rain and wind so you need to protect yourself against the forces of nature!
Polo is an outdoor country sport and despite it becoming super fashionable when it comes to the city, you can get away with far more casual attire than the races.
So have a look at our tips on what to wear to The Polo when it’s raining.
Gumboots Are Ok!
While heels and wedges bring the outfit together you should consider the fact that you’ll be walking through the parklands. You’re also not guaranteed that your marquee will have a hard floor so be prepared to get water on your shoes. Swap your suede and stilettos for gumboots! Yes, they’re ok!
Shorter Skirts
Before you laugh, what we’re trying to say is don’t wear a full length skirt that might drag on the ground! It’s going to be wet and muddy so you might be saying goodbye to them forever.
Layer Up
There’s absolutely no harm in layering up! We’re forecast for major rain which you could live with but the wind is going to cut through! Dress warm cause it’s not a short event.
Swap The Straw For Felt
Straw summer hats are everything at the moment but a dip back into your winter wardrobe for that favourite felt hat is in need.
Pants
The polo is not as intensely cocktail as the races so you’re fully in your right to wear pants. In fact, who can go wrong with a pant and boot combo! Dress it up with a sexy top and your outfit has already come together.
There you go, now you can enjoy the Polo in comfort!
