Can’t wait to dine indoors again? Here’s a list of restaurants and cafes who are taking bookings for indoor dining from Friday, 22 May.

With the easing of restrictions around indoor dining easing this Friday, 22 May, we’ll all be able to finally enjoy a restaurant meal — inside a restaurant. Who ever thought this would be such a momentous occasion?

As the notice given for this change in regulations was quite short (Premier Steven Marshall only announced it yesterday), some venues won’t be ready to reopen their doors, but many are working around the clock to prepare, so that you can head back to your favourite place for a meal.

Please keep in mind that South Australia’s cafes and restaurants have been struggling. The additional ten diners (dependant on how big the venue is) that are allowed to dine indoors, will help them to get some much needed revenue through their doors and EVERY CHAIR IS CRITICAL — so please don’t be a jerk and follow some basic etiquette. Also don’t forget to follow social distancing guidelines, wash your hands, and stay safe. We don’t want the stricter restrictions coming back any time soon.

GUIDELINES FOR DINERS

Book ahead so the venue can plan, and if you have booked, try not to cancel. They’re relying on you. That being said, if you can’t go for some reason, absolutely call up and let them know so that they can give your much needed chair/table to someone else. No shows are just unacceptable.
Only sit down if you’re planning on having a meal. Taking up one of their valuable tables for a single coffee is robbing them of revenue someone else could have brought them.
Keep your duration in mind. If you’re spending a fortune, I’m sure they won’t mind you settling in for a while, but for the rest of us, try and keep your mealtime to an hour, so the venue can allow other diners to have a meal too. This not only means others (who are equally busting to get out and have a restaurant experience) can enjoy their favourite meal at a great venue, but the venue itself can try and make enough money to cover some of their expenses. Remember, every dollar counts.
Post a review. By sharing your experience, it will let others know that the venue is up and running again for indoor dining. Help spread the word and let’s help SA’s hospitality industry get back on its feet.

Hut & Soul, 310 Pulteney Street, Adelaide

Lenzerheide Restaurant, 146 Belair Road Hawthorn

Lenzerheide have two sittings a night 5:30-7:30pm then 7:45pm onwards. Just one sitting at lunch from 12 noon, open 7 days.

Little Cafe on Churchill, 46b Churchill Road, Ovingham

No bookings necessary. 45 min sittings. Restricted brunch menu. Limited seating available. Take away can be ordered through Facebook messenger. They also have a small space for two people to sit outside. Blankets provided. Closed Sundays during the pandemic.

Love, Stephy Dessert Cafe, Shop 3, 62-68 Hindley Street, Adelaide

Open Friday 7am to 5pm and Saturday 12pm to 5pm with a 1.5 hour maximum sitting. They also make custom birthday cakes.

Maison Clement, Shop 16 Central Market Arcade, Adelaide
