Who doesn’t want to feel like royalty while they enjoying meal with more courses than they have fingers? We do. Everyday if we could. But we can’t, because our wallets probably won’t allow it.

If your bank account is what’s stopping you from going down the road of degustations (other than on the odd special occasion), we’ve made you a nifty little guide to some of the best degustation offerings of all prices across the state.

Arranged the same way we filter our dream online shopping cart – prices high to low. Granted not all of them take into account the cost of wine, but do we ever budget for wine? The answer is no.

Restaurant Botanic

The crème de la crème of degustation menus can be found at Restaurant Botanic. Follow the garden trail and indulge in the delights that are being currently harvested. Starting at $315pp, their tasting menu presents over 26 different flavour combinations that come in all different shapes and sizes and have been perfectly curated for what’s in season.

In addition, there are four different beverage options each perfectly paired with the degustation. These range in price from $145pp to $650pp.

The Lane Vineyard

If you’ve ever wanted to disappear into a long lunch and emerge several hours later wondering where the afternoon went, this is your moment. The Lane’s Chef’s Table Experience is a seven-course, estate-to-plate affair hosted by the kitchen team, celebrating seasonal produce grown on the property or sourced from local producers who care just as much as the chefs do.

Each course lands with a perfectly matched Lane wine (or a clever non-alcoholic alternative, if that’s your pace), creating a relaxed but deeply considered food and wine journey. Intimate, unhurried and indulgent, it’s designed for small groups who like their lunches long and their flavours dialled right up.

Magill Estate Restaurant

Situated on Penfold Road, the Magill Estate Restaurant delivers exemplary, contemporary food, alongside an extensive collection of Penfolds wines and stunning views of the Adelaide Hills.

The Magill Estate Restaurant offers an everchanging seasonal tasting menu from $295 per person, with optional icon or sommelier wine pairings.

Hardy’s Verandah Restaurant

Mount Lofty House’s Hardy’s Verandah Restaurant serves a seasonally changing degustation menu, following the ‘Valley to Verandah’ concept. Guests are guided through the evening by an attentive host, while expert sommeliers help navigate one of the country’s most impressive wine collections. HVR is a 3 Hat restaurant, making it one of the most renowned in the country. Through celebration of traditional luxury HVR promises an unforgettable epicurean journey.

St Hugo

This is the kind of experience that makes you feel like you’re really tasting, seeing, and feeling everything that went into it. St Hugo’s Garden to Table is equal parts foraging adventure and front-row dining, kicking off with Champagne before you wander through the kitchen garden alongside the chef, tasting and sniffing your way through whatever’s in season.

From there, it’s onto the best seat in the house, the open kitchen, where a multi-course seasonal menu unfolds in full view, paired with premium St Hugo wines and plenty of insight from the people behind them. Intimate, hands-on and deeply Barossa, it’s a three-hour deep dive into how garden, kitchen and cellar all talk to each other.

Hentley Farm

Watch alongside the vibrant kitchen as Hentley Farm’s exquiste team prepare your luxury chef’s table experience, starting at $260pp. Guests are invited to interact with the chefs as they prepare additional dishes and treats for this exclusive space.

This experience is available for groups of six to eight guests and includes a tailored beverage pairing of Hentley Farm Luxury and Cellar Release wines.

LVN at Bird in Hand

LVN at Bird in Hand is designed for long pauses and unhurried indulgence, pairing spectacular Adelaide Hills views with a refined tasting menu of seven to ten dishes. The experience moves from elegant one-bite signatures to more substantial, carefully composed plates, encouraging guests to settle in and enjoy the journey.

Priced at $225 per person, the immersive dining experience can stretch up to 3.5 hours and is best suited to adults, with children under eight not accommodated. Optional wine pairings deepen the experience, with a standard pairing at $95 per person or a premium Tribute pairing at $145 per person, featuring rare back-vintage and museum releases. Group sizes are limited to a maximum of six, keeping the experience intimate and focused.

Maxwell Restaurant

One of McLaren Vale’s best, Maxwell Restaurant has set the benchmark for regional fine dining, named South Australian Restaurant of the Year by Gourmet Traveller in 2024. The tasting menu champions seasonal local produce, modern technique and a strong sense of place, paired with wines drawn from the Maxwell estate.

Fugazzi

As one of Leigh Street’s most popular venues, Fugazzi Bar & Dining Room, is a New York inspired Italo-American bar, known for their lux interiors and star-studded guests. On offer is a 5-course Cena Tasting Menu, presenting the best Fugazzi has to offer. Plus, with a central CBD location, the degustation is the perfect excuse to experience the hustle and bustle of the city.

Windy Point Restaurant

Positioned in the Adelaide foothills, Windy Point has all the tranquillity and beauty of the Australian bush, just 15 minutes south of the city, with ample car and tour bus parking. The unique opportunity for a ‘virtual’ tour of Adelaide from the comfort of your dining chair is irresistible. A standout dish from the five-course tasting menu is the 12-hour Coonawarra lamb shoulder, with broad beans, saffron yoghurt and carrot.

Sofia

Sofia Bistro’s ‘Don’t Even Think About It’ offering is all about relaxed indulgence, the kind that starts with warm bread on the table and just keeps rolling. The $85pp set menu moves through a generous line-up of snacks before settling into shared mains, sides and dessert, striking that sweet spot between polished and comforting.

If you’re doing it properly, the optional $12 pasta course is a no-brainer. Add it on, settle in, and let the evening stretch, this is classic Hutt Street dining done right.

Pastel Wine Bar

Pastel’s $76pp dinner offering leans into share-style plates and easygoing indulgence, designed for long conversations, good pours and plates that keep coming. All of it unfolds inside Pastel’s moody, warmly lit space on O’Connell Street, where timber panelling, exposed brick and a marble bar set the tone. Add DJ-backed evenings and a leafy courtyard out back, and it’s equally suited to date nights, group dinners or midweek hangs that accidentally turn into late ones.
