From chef’s tasting menus to full-on degustations, we’ve got the best places to gorge your face with excellent food in South Australia.

Who doesn’t want to feel like royalty while they enjoying meal with more courses than they have fingers? We do. Everyday if we could. But we can’t, because our wallets probably won’t allow it.

If your bank account is what’s stopping you from going down the road of degustations (other than on the odd special occasion), we’ve made you a nifty little guide to some of the best degustation offerings of all prices across the state.

Arranged the same way we filter our dream online shopping cart – prices high to low. Granted not all of them take into account the cost of wine, but do we ever budget for wine? The answer is no.

Restaurant Botanic

The crème de la crème of degustation menus can be found at Restaurant Botanic. Follow the garden trail and indulge in the delights that are being currently harvested. Starting at $365pp, their tasting menu presents over 26 different flavour combinations that come in all different shapes and sizes and have been perfectly curated for what’s in season.

In addition, there are four different beverage options each perfectly paired with the degustation. These range in price from $165pp to $950pp.

The Lane Vineyard

An immersive, sensory food experience ‘from estate to plate’ – hosted by The Lane’s kitchen team. Enjoy a seven-course chef’s menu that celebrates seasonal ingredients – grown and produced either on the estate or by local farmers, growers and suppliers. All ingredients are traceable and ethically produced. Each course is conceived and crafted to perfectly complement the wine.

Hentley Farm

Watch alongside the vibrant kitchen as Hentley Farm’s exquiste team prepare your luxury chef’s table experience, starting at $285pp. Guests are invited to interact with the chefs as they prepare additional dishes and treats for this exclusive space.

This experience is available for groups of six to eight guests and includes a tailored beverage pairing of Hentley Farm Luxury and Cellar Release wines.

LVN at Bird in Hand

A long pause, taking in the spectacular Adelaide Hills, with rare wines and culinary moments imbued with tradition. At LVN, their exclusive dining experience is centred a tasting menu featuring 7 to 10 courses at $195 per person. Optional wine pairing $95 per person. The immersive meal can last up to 3.5 hours, making it unsuitable for children under 8, and the maximum group size they can accommodate is a table of 6.

Yuki in Burnside

Yuki in Burnside’s curated omakase offerings change often, highlighting a diversity of seasons, ingredients, and the range of textures. Dishes are presented one at a time, at the perfect moment when flavour, temperature and texture are in perfect condition. This allows you to enjoy the true essence of Omakase by Yohei: “Feel like you are in Japan by our food.”
