An Adelaide favourite is spicing things up just in time for the cooler months. This May, Leigh Street’s Casablabla is introducing a brand-new Omakase-style dining experience that is full of surprises. Known for its globally influenced flavour-packed tapas and lively atmosphere, this CBD gem is now inviting guests to hand over the reins and let the chef curate a unique seasonal feast.
The new Omakase menu is going to be available from Tuesday to Thursday in May. Casablabla has been a Leigh Street staple for years, bringing flavours from all over the world to one place. In May with the reinvented menu, it’s time for you to rediscover an old favourite or uncover a hidden gem.

“We opened in 2009 before a lot of restaurants and bars on Bank, Leigh and Peel Street. By having Casablabla at the centre of that, ensured that the venue activated the precinct.” Shared General Manager Collins Oyange.
This indoor-outdoor dining venue is tucked away amongst the hustle and bustle of the West End on Leigh Street. This is one of the most lively streets in Adelaide for dining and nightlife, with world-class restaurants and bars lining the cobblestone strip. Casablabla encapsulates this vibe, with its bold style and colourful design.

“Casablabla is multicultural. We’ve got trinkets from all over the world. You name it, we’ve got it. From Morocco, Bali, India, Africa, and beyond.”
Not only is this multicultural aspect reflected in the restaurant’s decor, but also in the food. As part of the Omakase menu, the chefs will lead you through a meal that’s filled with local produce but explodes with flavours that have taken influence from all around the globe.
As part of this menu, you’ll be able to try exciting new items, mixed in with some old favourites. Each time you go, you’ll be treated to something different, depending on what is available to the chefs.
“There are no specific guidelines for what the chef will create. It’s almost like you’re going in blindfolded.
“As with any Omakase, there’s no specific or set menu. Guests will entrust the chefs to select the meals for them. There will be a lot of local produce incorporated. We’ll focus on what’s in season.”

The Omakase style experience will be $55 per person, and while there is no set number of courses, the chefs will ensure that you don’t leave hungry.
This dining experience is a great excuse to head down to Leigh Street during the week. It is a great chance to check out a new restaurant, or return to an old favourite, and experience the best of the menu at an affordable price.
Casablabla also run happy hour from Tuesday to Fridays from 4pm to 6pm with $9 Tap beers, base spirits and house wines.
To begin, this will only be available in May and bookings are recommended. So if you’re keen to check it out, don’t wait too long!
