Rundle Place is set to host South Australia’s first ever Carpark Climb during the Santos Tour Down Under on Saturday 21 January, 2017.
The VTWO Cycling Tips Carpark Climb at Rundle Place, originally established in Melbourne, is excited to be launching in South Australia during the nation’s most coveted cycling event, the Santos Tour Down Under.
The Carpark Climb will see cyclists go head to head (both amateur and professional riders), racing each other (and the clock) up 12 levels of the Rundle Place multi-story carpark.
Andrew Gooding from the Carpark Climb creators VTWO, said Rundle Place was the perfect destination for the unique event.
“Following a similar event in Melbourne which immediately gained global notoriety, we took to the streets of Adelaide to find out the best location for this novel cycling event. The Rundle Place carpark immediately caught our attention. We’re very excited to utilise this space come January 21,” Mr Gooding said.
“There will be bars, food trucks and a DJ to really amp up the atmosphere – there will be such a great buzz in the carpark – we really think the crowd will enjoy this first-time event experience.”
Centre Manager of Rundle Place Kate Jarman said the VTWO Cycling Tips Carpark Climb at Rundle Place will be an incredibly entertaining spectacle for all ages.
“We’re thrilled to be involved in this event – it’s not every day you get to utilise a carpark, but this is something new and exciting for Rundle Place,” Kate said.
