One of South Australia’s oldest pubs has been given a new name, and a $2 million dollar makeover, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter.

Formerly known as the Tea Tree Gully Hotel, the 160 year old pub is now called The Gully Public House & Garden, and includes an alluring new beer garden.

Drawing inspiration from the historic Tea Tree Gully area, the changes are designed to celebrate The Gully’s history and provide a venue that supports the local community.

Owner Richard Jones said he is proud to give The Gully a new lease on life.

“In my opinion The Gully Public House & Garden is one of the most beautiful hotels in Adelaide but had become a little dated,” he said.

“We’ve created a new beer garden which makes the most of the natural surroundings and is like nothing I’ve ever seen before in South Australia, or interstate.

The new beer garden extends across three levels, including two bars and six old-style cabanas, and decking which, has been constructed around the 100 year old trees to create a rustic feel.

The renovation also brings with it a new expanded menu incorporating fresh produce sourced from surrounding regions, such as the Barossa Valley and the Adelaide Hills.
