A New Sparkling Vino Blooms At Oliver’s Taranga

Discover the new SA Sparkling by Oliver’s Taranga unveiled amongst an array of floral bliss.

Never one to do things quietly or without colour, Oliver’s Taranga winemaker Corrina Wright launched their newest wine by taking over Adelaide’s Madame Hanoi restaurant earlier this month. In a flurry of flowers, food, and fine art, The hunt for Mrs.Oliver Fiano Methode Traditionnelle 2016 was unveiled to a packed audience dressed in their floral finest.

Explaining the inspiration behind the new label, co-owner Brioni Oliver tells that it is dedicated to their much loved Gran, 4th generation Marjorie Lois Oliver, whose maiden name was Hunt. ‘We knew that although Gran is crowned as the head of our family, she would be far too humble to wear a jewelled crown. We decided that a floral crown would suit her personality much better’, she says referring to the intricate artwork on the front label, a watercolour by famous body artist, Emma Hack. Emma spent the launch recreating the label on a live model, adding an extra element of excitement to the evening for the guests.

‘The more I worked with Fiano as a still wine, the more it made sense to me as a potential for an estate grown traditional method sparkling wine with its high natural acidity and similar flavour profile to Chardonnay’, says winemaker and co-owner Wright. ‘I was very lucky to be taken under the tutelage of arguably South Australia’s finest fizz maker, Kate Laurie from Deviation Road wines to help me learn the intricacies of sparkling making, and it has been a fabulous journey thus far.’

The hunt for Mrs.Oliver Fiano Methode Traditionnelle 2016 (A$48) is very small volume, and is available now en primeur from the Oliver’s Taranga website.
