A new sparkling RTD with a juicy berry twist is turning heads for an unexpected reason

Irvine Wines have just launched a new drink that’s light, fizzy, full of berry flavour and dangerously easy to love.

We know not everyone can neck a wine like they could a vodka soda, or gin and tonic, so this canned sparkling rosé is something you can crack open without overthinking it. No corkscrew or fancy glasses. Just the best vibes, great music and something cold in your hand.

This is where Angie’s comes out to party.

Created by Barossa winery Irvines Wines, Angie’s is their sparkling rosé designed in a can to bring a little more colour, and a lot more fun, to the wine scene.

“We had thought about putting wine in a can a few years ago,” said Irvine Wines brand manager Casey Miles. “But just putting wine in a can isn’t necessarily the most successful thing,” she admits.

After all, why not just buy a whole bottle?

“So we knew we had to do something different and make it exciting.”

That “something different” became a fruits of the forest sparkling Rosé, light, fizzy and bursting with juicy berry flavour. It’s as easy to drink as your average seltzer but “almost like a carbonated cordial.”

“When you crack the can, it literally smells like berries,” Casey said.

And if the fruity-licious smell wasn’t a dead giveaway about the flavour, just wait to it hits your taste buds. “It’s not overly sweet, but it’s like you’ve just eaten a handful of mixed berries.”

At 4.5% ABV, Angie’s is intentionally easy-drinking. You still get that subtle alcoholic finish, but without the heavier tannins or intensity of traditional wine.

If right about now you’re thinking ‘well I won’t like it, I don’t drink wine,’ this is exactly why it’s the drink for you.

“You don’t need to drink wine to love this product,” Casey explained. “I’ve given it to friends who don’t drink wine at all, and they’re like, ‘Oh my God, I love this.’”

Angie’s is RSVPing to the party just in time for mad March to get in full swing, with festivals, fringe and more long weekends dominating the calendar. It’s a drink specifically made for the festival bar menu.

Angie’s isn’t just a name, she’s the fun, flirty and cheeky bright haired girl you see dancing at a three-day festival. She’s got great taste and even better vibes for every occasion.

A picnic with the girls? Angie’s there. A day out at one of the many festivals? She’ll be serving you from behind the bar.

“Our idea is that as we expand the range, each flavour will be a different version of her,” Casey said. “Different hair, different colour, different personality. This rosé Angie is cheeky and fun, and who knows what the next one will be.”

You can already catch Angie’s at the Adelaide Fringe, in select bars throughout the month long festival.

Angie’s is currently available online and at the Irvine Wines cellar door situated at 63 Valley Road, Angaston.
