2012 was a sellout, and this year Honda Presents A Night Of Fashion At The Art Gallery Of South Australia with Attitude Magazine promises to be bigger and better than ever.

A Night of Fashion at the Art Gallery will showcase some of Australia’s leading fashion designers within the majestic Elder Wing of the Art Gallery of South Australia. 2013 sees the return of designers Willow, Scanlan & Theodore, Carla Zampatti and Bianca Spender, and also welcomes Toni Maticevski, Akira, Collette Dinnigan, Alice McCall and Suzy O’Rouke Millinery, with more names to be announced soon.

Adelaide’s leading models from Pride and Finesse model agencies will command the historic 50-metre long catwalk.

Returning as naming rights sponsor for 2013, Honda’s new range is sure to turn heads. The evening will feature the new Honda CRV – not just beautiful on the surface, the sleek yet functional design fits perfectly with the fashionable crowd.

The finalists for The Blank Canvas will also be on display. The Blank Canvas, presented by CIBO Espresso, is an incredible opportunity for emerging artists and designers to get their work seen by some of SA’s culture elite, and celebrates the fusion of art and fashion with their unique dress creations.

With over 100 entries, The Art Gallery of South Australia director Nick Mitzevich will be judging the winner on the night. The winner will receive $500 cash courtesy of CIBO, a $300 voucher from Premier Arts, and editorial coverage in both the September edition of Attitude Magazine and A Night of Fashion program.

The Art Gallery of South Australia has recently acquired some remarkable examples of Andy Warhol’s Polaroid photography. Two of the recently acquired photographs, Liza Minnelli and Andy and Hitchcock, will be on display for the first time for A Night of Fashion.

The evening will commence with pre-parade cocktails in the Art Gallery gardens at the Zhivago bar, plus beverages courtesy of Fox Creek Wines, VALE ALE and Adelaide Hills Cider. Guests will also feast on a delicious selection of sweet and savoury treats from the CIBO Espresso table created by the Harris Scarfe homewares team. Following the parades, guests will continue to enjoy food and drink in the Art Gallery gardens.

Director of the Art Gallery of South Australia, Nick Mitzevich comments, “A Night of Fashion at the Art Gallery is a marriage between Adelaide’s art and fashion communities, a meeting of like-minded creative individuals. It’s always exciting to see the Art Gallery humming with creative energy and the works of art and sublime architecture providing inspiration for the designers, the makers, the models and the audience.”

As host for the event, Mitzevich hopes that guests “take away that the Art Gallery is a place where the unexpected can happen, a place that embraces new ideas and audiences and a backdrop for life at its most creative.”
