A Sexy New Rooftop Bar Is Coming Adelaide’s Way

Add this one to the list…

Get out the list, we have another amazing bar that you need to add to it. The newest addition, Hennessy. The sexy rooftop bar on top of Adelaide’s latest luxury 5 star boutique hotel, The Mayfair.

Opening on Friday 4 December, Hennessy was originally designed for access by executive guests only when the hotel first opened just under a year ago. But the space, with its stunning views over the Adelaide Hills, was just too beautiful not too share. So, due to public demand, the new hotel management team have totally redesigned and refurbished the space to prepare for its public debut.

With the heritage listed building’s red sloping roof-tiles reaching to within reach of those on the deck and its gargoyles fiercely guarding the outer perimeter, the building exudes an old world Parisienne vibe. The luxe furnishings and accessories add a chic and modern “city on the move” element of the standard one would expect from an establishment such as the Mayfair Hotel.

The name Hennessy may suggest an alliance to that famous French house, however in the case of the Hennessy Bar at the Mayfair, it is actually a nod to Hennessy & Hennessy, the original architects of the heritage listed building built in 1935.

On entry, Hennessy will surprise – with intricate tiling, beautiful marble and plush furnishing inside, to its outdoor deck and champagne terrace – its interlocking spaces provide a great setting for both intimate occasions and stylish celebrations alike.

Throw in a drinks menu featuring the very best champagne, boutique South Australian wines and specially designed house cocktails including the ‘Hennessy Twilight’ and ‘Honey Trap’ plus a ‘bar snack’ menu designed by The Mayfair’s Executive Chef Bethany Finn and you have us more than intrigued to check this place out…

The end goal, as described by Martin Radcliffe, General Manager the Mayfair Hotel, “has been to create an environment that represents the height of city chic and elegance – a place to unwind and feel special in the company of good people”.

On level 13 of The Mayfair, Hennessy will be open daily from 5pm. It can be accessed is via the Hotel’s Mayflower basement bar level lifts. Just another thoughtful and strategically designed move by Mayfair management. For those meeting guests at Hennessey, this area provides an easy gathering point in comfortable surrounds before progressing up to the rooftop.

“We simply felt this provided an easier place to meet and greet friends and colleagues before heading upstairs to Hennesy. We know people often like to arrive as a group and the basement setting ensures those arriving early can wait for others in their party in a pleasant setting and even grab a drink if they desire” said Mr Radcliffe.

Like we said, you will want to add this one to your ‘must try’ list.
