This Sunday Adelaide’s west is gearing up to celebrate Greek culture as the Thebarton Hellenic Festival comes to the St George Greek Orthodox Church in Thebarton. This is set to be a spectacular day that honours 65 years of community.
The event will be a day of music, food, tradition and celebration for the local community. The festival coincides with the St George community’s commemoration of Anzac Day, bringing people together to reflect and honour those who served.
The festival will kick off at 12:30pm and run until late. Rose Street will be transformed for an afternoon and evening of lively cultural festivities.
Entertainment will be at the forefront of the day, with attendance from the Hellenic Presidential Guard March as a showstopper for the day. But of course, it wouldn’t be a Greek festival without a celebration of dance and tradition as well, so expect to see Greek cultural performances, complete with stunning costumes and high-energy routines that honour centuries-old customs and traditions.
Plus, much-loved Greek band Kosmos will take centre stage to perform live, and DJs will be spinning traditional and modern Greek hits all day long to keep the vibe pumping into the evening. This festival will have an upbeat atmosphere that’ll make you want to get up and dance.
Throughout the day, festival goers can enjoy a mouth-watering spread of authentic Greek food. From classic Mediterranean flavours to favourite Greek desserts, local cooks and community groups will be serving delicious food all day. Whether you’re after a quick bite or a feast fit for a yiayia, there’s something to satisfy every craving.

The festival is proudly hosted by the St George Greek Orthodox Community and offers a unique way to reconnect and celebrate with multicultural Australia. It’s a day where everyone is welcome, whether you’re part of the Greek community or simply looking for a great way to spend a Sunday.
