A Taste Of America’s Deep South With Burgers, Ribs and More

The Curious Squire’s new winter menu draws inspiration from the likes of Louisiana.

Calling all Adelaide meat-lovers, get set to embark on a culinary journey around the US, with The Curious Squire adding the best from native America and Louisiana to its new menu. Renowned for its mouth-watering burgers, BBQ meats, wings and ribs, the North Adelaide restaurant is expanding its main menu, adding some Louisiana flair, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to chow down on some old-fashioned meaty goodness.

You’re guaranteed not to have tried anything like it; each dish is the result of a lot of thought, trial and error, and skill. It’s a place where the everyday isn’t enough. Even if you think you’ve tried it before, it won’t be the same here.

The chicken wings, tenders and ribs have an undertone of spice, while the burgers are packed full of everything you’ve ever wanted in a burger, from fried onion rings to salted beetroot.

Head Chef, Joshua Barry, set out to put a modern twist on the traditional flavours, using locally grown produce.“We will be sticking to our strong, South-American theme but bringing subtle technique and flavour changes to modernise the menu. We will be expanding our main menu with a focus on Louisiana cuisine which has huge French and Italian influences at its roots,” says Barry.

The pumping restaurant is also expanding, adding a variety of imaginative offerings to put Squires on the map as North Adelaide’s premium burger destination. New crowd favourite, ‘The Squires Burger’ is bursting with a beef patty, crispy pork belly, American cheddar cheese, coleslaw and topped with crispy fried onion rings and Squire’s sauce, and it’s definitely not one you want to miss.

The US inspired bar is spicing up lunch time with an express menu serving up traditional Cuban street food with a twist. The lunch menu is made up of traditional Cuban pressed sandwiches with a modern twist, using rustic Piadina bread and adding adding your choice of cheese sauce, Mojo pork, shaved leg ham, pickles, roasted eggplant and roasted capsicum. The menu is still bursting with crowd favourites, including the restaurant’s signature buffalo wings and BBQ ribs.

“Customers can expect a true dining experience like no other, with real food, done well and paired with impeccable customer service,” says Barry.

Everything is a glowing wash of pink, with classic US cinema-inspired signboards across the top of the bar, you’ll feel like you’re transported to the land of the free and the home of the brave. While it’s definitely kid-friendly, we wouldn’t call it a family restaurant. The atmosphere is one where you’re surrounded by like-minded friends, whether it’s to watch a game of footy or down a burger and James Squire beer.

The Curious Squire’s new menu is available to enjoy at 10 O’Connel Street, North Adelaide.
