A much-loved community tradition is returning this December, with aba TRADES once again opening their doors for their annual Christmas Community Fundraiser. This year marks an exciting new chapter as the event welcomes families to the company’s brand-new Stepney HQ on Saturday 20 December, with all proceeds proudly supporting Kickstart for Kids.
Now in its fourth year, the fundraiser has grown into a truly joyful afternoon out, offering a fun mix of activities designed to bring people together during what can be a challenging time of year for many South Australians. Families can expect a lively celebration, with face painting, Farmer Darcy’s Travelling Farm petting zoo, a bouncy castle, a Gelato Bello gelati cart, a sausage sizzle, and the big man himself, with Santa making a very special appearance for professional photos.
Ahead of the main event, aba TRADES is adding even more festive sparkle to the season by unveiling a Christmas display at the new Coles Norwood Mall. Families will be able to snap photos and send a letter to Santa, while the company’s signature vans will be decked out to spread holiday cheer across Adelaide. It’s all part of aba’s mission to give back and create moments of joy during one of the busiest times of the year.
The celebration also comes during a milestone period for the business as aba TRADES continues to grow its offerings following its official launch earlier this year. Previously known as aba Plumbing & Gas, the company has transitioned into a full-service South Australian trade provider, now delivering expertise across Plumbing & Gas, Air Conditioning, Electrical, Roofing and Renovations. With more than a decade of trusted service behind them, their community-first mindset remains at the heart of the business.
Founder of aba TRADES, Paul Chaina, says the Christmas Community Fundraiser is one of the team’s most meaningful initiatives. “Supporting the community is a core value at aba TRADES. Seeing families come together and enjoy the day brings me so much joy. Christmas can be a challenging time for many, so if we can create something positive and memorable, that’s what it’s all about.”
All event proceeds, including the special Christmas raffle, will go directly to Kickstart for Kids to help fund their essential breakfast, lunch, and mentoring programs supporting disadvantaged children across South Australia. Founder of Kickstart for Kids, Ian Steel, shared his appreciation, saying “we are incredibly grateful for aba TRADES’ continued support. Events like this are vital, with the money raised helping us deliver all our school programs to children who need it most.”
With free entry and a warm welcome extended to families across the state, the team hopes to see the community gather for a day of festive fun. “We really encourage everyone in the community to pop in, grab an ice cream, get a photo with Santa… It’s going to be amazing,” Paul says.
