ABC Gardeners’ Market to benefit The Smith Family SA

The ABC Gardeners' Market (formerly Car Park Caper) is a biannual community market that gives gardening enthusiasts access to a multitude of local growers and associations. In nearly twenty years the event has raised over $200,000 for South Australian charities.

This year the event will be held on Saturday October 13th at the ABC car park at Collinswood.

Highlights this Spring include the highly sought after free tours of the ABC TV and Radio studios from 9am to 11am.

891 ABC Adelaide's  Weekend presenter, Ashley Walsh will broadcast live from 8.30am to 11 am including Talkback Gardening with gardening guru Jon Lamb plus home hints advice with builder Rose Squire, followed by the Toughest Quiz in Town at 10.30am. A new feature is Talkback Gardening Extra with Jon Lamb, live helpful advice on stage from 11am until midday with local experts James Smith, Trevor Nottle and Linda Neiman discussing backyard critters, exotics and native plants.

Stay for breakfast, brunch or lunch as there are plenty of food stalls and coffee.

Gates open to the public at 8am. Entry is by gold coin donation. Gates close at 1pm.

The event on October 13 will see gate and stall site proceeds go to The Smith Family’s Learning Clubs which includes homework support, tutoring and numeracy and literacy assistance.
