Leigh Street lovers! Get ready for the ultimate Friday afternoon dining experience this February 18. Acclaimed Australian chef Peter Orr is taking the helm of Leigh Street Wine Room for an exclusive one-off lunch to celebrate the popular natural wine bar’s collaboration with Moorak Wines.
Together, two of the state’s coolest entities in SA’s unrivalled wine game are launching a Rosé, perfectly paired with a one-off culinary experience at Leigh Street Wine Room.
The dining experience is one of the first to be curated by Peter Orr, who has recently taken on the role of Executive Chef at Leigh Street Wine Room.
Orr, who has recently relocated to SA after an extensive career in Europe, has garnered an impressive reputation and extensive experience working in several Michelin-star restaurants. Now, the acclaimed chef is translating his talents into the gourmet dishes created for the European-inspired bar.
While the details for the event are still under wraps, guests can expect Orr to bring fine European flavours and experience developed working within the acclaimed-Parisian natural wine bar Au Passage.
Each dish has been created to showcase the depth and flavour profile of the soon-to-be-released Moorak Wines x Leigh Street Wine Room Rosé, with guests of the afternoon tasting the first-ever tipple of the new drop. Each variety in the series has been built from scratch by winemaker Jordan Hain and the Moorak team.
As a self-trained winemaker, Hain’s approach to winemaking focuses on minimal intervention within the process. The winemaking maverick will be in attendance to guide you through the intriguing journey of how the Moorak wines are developed and how Hain perfects their flavours at the McLaren Vale low carbon-impact winery.
The wine has been described as a ‘left-field Rose’ and the event is set to act as a release for the Moorak Rosé.
The lunch is priced at $45 per person and includes two courses paired perfectly with a glass of Moorak wine. The experience brings a celebration of food and wine and will showcase the pair’s passion for the two.
