Acclaimed Australian violinist and composer Simone Slattery will play a free intimate concert at Lot Fourteen’s community on Thursday night.

One of the country’s most versatile young musicians and creators, Slattery performs across Australia and internationally as both soloist and ensemble member, holds a PhD from the University of Adelaide, and was a 2019 Churchill Fellow.

As well as performing with the Australian Haydn Ensemble, the Melbourne Chamber Orchestra, the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra, the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, and the Australian Romantic and Classical Orchestra, her festival appearances include the BBC Proms, Musica Viva Huntington Estate Music Festival, and the Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Perth International Arts Festivals.

“With my international touring schedule on hold due to the pandemic, this period has provided the perfect opportunity to support local ventures in my hometown,’’ Slattery said.

“I’m excited about the potential for bringing classical music to unusual spaces, and creating an intimate concert experience in one of Adelaide CBD’s hidden gem venues.”
