Australian music with a twist, Tripod have always been very popular for the comedy songs they put together. This time they have combined with the also very funny, Eddie Perfect, to bring iconic Australian songs some new lyrics.

The harmonies are fantastic and, musically, this show would be hard to fault. Eighteen years of performing together have honed Tripod’s banter, but Eddie fits in just beautifully.

They began with Waltzing Matilda, of course, and covered everything from Australian Crawl to Silverchair, throwing in a little Colin Hay and John Farnham along the way. Most of the early numbers were a cappella with just a couple of guitars added for the more rocky feel needed. A really good version of Paul Kelly’s Meet me in the Middle of the Air and a cover of The Reels Quasimodo’s Dream were all there with How Deep is Your Love? from the Bee Gees.

They did a Tripod song and one of Eddie’s songs but mostly they covered the gambit of Australian music through the years, and I for one would have been happy if the show had gone twice as long. A lot of harmony mixed with a little comedy is a winning combination.
