Do you dream of guiding a talented cohort of up-and-coming actors through an array of projects? Could you be the next First Nations producer of SA’s socially conscious, youth-led theatre group?

ActNow is searching for a First Nations producer to join the ranks of the progressive theatre company for a 12-month part-time contract.

The producer will be responsible for the coordination and presentation of First Nations projects, initiatives, and events, with the individual expected to contribute to programs that directly intersect with First Nations involvement in the ActNow Theatre company.

The exciting opportunity will see the individual lead the coordination of the Pathway Program and the First Nations Residency Program hosted in partnership with the State Theatre Company. The program creates a space that encourages residency individuals to dive into personal areas of interest and develop works in response, with the team consisting of prolific First Nations voices like Kiara Milera and Alexis West.

The role will significantly contribute to nurturing and profiling First Nations artists in South Australia while sparking a conversation and action around current social issues in Australia and beyond.

Individuals applying will require a sound understanding of the communities with which ActNow engages, with experience in logistics, administration, and people management is desirable.

The company is on the hunt for First Nations actors to join and perform ActNow’s award-winning performances. The position requires no formal experience, with the group providing training to keen First Nations applicants over 18.

ActNow Theatre strives to create interactive art projects that generate social justice outcomes, championing underrepresented artistic communities as it goes. Hoping to democratize storytelling through their artistic endeavors, ActNow empowers communities through their work, utilizing their audience as a catalyst for social change.

Applications for the First Nations producer role closes at 11:59 pm, Friday 13 August.
