Lord Mayor Stephen Yarwood will announce and present the City of Adelaide 2012 Citizen of the Year Awards at the Adelaide Town Hall on Thursday morning.
Presented annually on Australia Day, the Awards will recognise local citizens or groups that have made a significant contribution in 2011 or given outstanding service to the local community over a number of years.
The three categories are Citizen of the Year Award, Young Citizen of the Year Award and Community Event of the Year Award.
“Australia Day is all about celebrating the Australian spirit and recognizing those within our community that really make a difference,” Stephen said.
